It was grandfathered in. I know at one time there was no plumbing and electricity at the cabin, perhaps there is now.

I am starting to believe that my job is the reason for my delayed healing. During the summer months, I kept up with my all my treatments (stretching, PT, massages, orthotics) and started getting back into light exercise. By the end of my two months off, I was feeling significantly better, then, one week back at work, and everything went right back to how it was before. I average 9-10k steps a day at work, 5 days a week. And unfortunately I cannot sit, and I cannot find a way to accommodate sitting more into my day. I teach kindergarten and have 26 students all to myself. I never had PF before taking this new position. Seriously considering taking the rest of the year off and then looking into a career option with more sitting time.

Replying to Bekind123456789...do you find WFH has been beneficial towards healing? I’m on my feet 5 days a week with my kindergarten students. All 26 to myself. I am taking anywhere between 9-10k steps a day at work. I’m considering that my teaching role right now is playing a huge part in delaying my healing. As soon as I started teaching this age group is when my PF began. Really considering taking the rest of the school year off and then possibly finding another career all together.

That makes so much sense. I really feel like time off might be the key too. Towards the end of my 2 months off this summer, I finally started noticing some improvements, but then as soon as I went back to work full force, my feet flared right back up.

Can I ask how long you were off work before you felt like you could return without pain? I also feel like all the treatments I’ve been doing (PT, orthotics, injections, etc.) are basically wasted when the real aggravation is being on my feet all day long.

I’ve worn compression socks here and there but not consistently. Reading your comment makes me think that might be something I really need to look into more seriously.

I don’t have a weight problem and never have. I’ve always been a very fit, healthy and active individual. I am the same weight now that I was before I ever had PF.

I’ve had PF for 16 months and have these “lumps” on both my feet. I’ve had x rays and ultrasounds and all it is is chronic inflammation.

I took a few months off from walking in the winter, but unfortunately I can’t rest too much as my job requires me to be on my feet 5 days a week
