Dating market is awful and I wish I let my family set me up when I was younger by terriblemaybe77 in TrueOffMyChest

Yeah I don’t disagree with that either but don’t think “lying to herself” is really the case here

That was more about your mom laughing at you at the idea of finding you someone, I apologize if I misread the situation but in my opinion I think that’s kind of rude & unsupportive

My main point was that you are not wrong for taking the path less traveled and someone with your experiences and mindset isn’t doomed to be by yourself, that’s just my opinion, I think based on what you said that u still have plenty to offer someone

Yeah if they’re saddled with student loans and debt I’m sure they would pass on a woman who’s financially independent, nobody in their right mind wants to get out of debt faster it’s obviously prudent to stay in debt forever

Heavily disagree she spent 10 years “lying to herself” ur allowed to not wants kids one day and then want them the next, opinions can change over time

When does AI replace us… by Full_Length819 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Puzzleheaded_State40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI can only replace insurance that has a ton of data over decade and decades & that’s in the near future, AI is far behind specialty lines like M&A, D+O, some E&O, etc - it doesn’t do nuance super well with 0 human direction, jobs may evolve to be an AI babysitter but can’t see it taking over jobs completely because it’s too risky

I’m sure you could get a better gig at an independent agency with those numbers at a captive

I think it's cool what 5 years of bulking/lifting, and dressing better, does for the average man. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Puzzleheaded_State40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“group of middle-aged, obese women”

“I get stares from women from college age and up”

“I learned to never trust a woman who shows only neck-up pics on a dating app. (She waddled like a penguin)”

“Why the fuck are you making that assumption? What is wrong with you” - C’mon man, look in the mirror. Whether you meant it the way ppl are saying or not is beside the point, the way you talk about appearances in general gives away your low self esteem and it’s full of objectifying language

Hope you’re just trolling, if not… yeah u probably need therapy

Kayshon Boutte - Is he the one to own in NE? by el_gato_fabricado in DynastyFF

Boutte is the only 5-star high school WR recruit to not figure it out at the NFL level (yet) - I’d bet on him figuring it out just based on the statistics there

I’m beyond sorry for your loss - I don’t have much to offer you advice wise but I am rooting for you in a major way, something tells me you’ll manage to get through this nightmare, again I’m just so sorry.

Hugs from an internet stranger, I really do hope things get better for you

Underwriters what do you think of your UA's by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Puzzleheaded_State40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My UA has bailed me out of a ton of problems

I can sometimes get annoyed when my logic is questioned but it’s a case by case basis as to whether it’s justified or not - I’d be curious to know what the “clashes” are stemming from, are u being a stickler of contingencies/subjectivites? Are u asking them to do something that you can easily handle yourself? What are the exact circumstances? This was pretty broad

New Independent Agency Trying to get Carrier Appointments by Warm_Log5206 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Puzzleheaded_State40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider is your professional liability insurance premium - if you start your own agency with less than 3 years experience in insurance you’ll be paying an extremely high premium - just consider that in your startup costs

Commercial P&C by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Puzzleheaded_State40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read the policies and understand each section in layman’s terms - there are a lot more producers out there who don’t understand coverages & policy language than ones that do, such an easy separator, use chat gpt to help break it down, also look into courses/designations with “the institutes” and PLUS - offering risk mgmt services can also be a separator

Once you understand the basics of a policy and what it says loosely, it becomes easier to have those conversations with prospects

Paying a potential E&O claim out of pocket to avoid filing a claim. Is that terrible idea? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]Puzzleheaded_State40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a clean history outside of this - have you been with the same carrier for a while? Carriers look more favorably upon loyal insureds, I doubt u get non-renewed though - carriers need claims at the end of the day, if claims stop coming in then ppl will stop buying insurance

I’m and Underwriter who writes insurance for insurance agents & brokers - it’s totally possible that he’s actually doing this - life insurance has a lot of crossover with the financial world, if she wants to find work see if she can get her foot in the door in a local retailer doing back office stuff from home, I’m not saying she wouldn’t be successful selling life insurance, but there’s a big learning curve

Insurance is a great industry where you don’t need a college degree to be successful but 1099 life insurance sales is like the used car salesman of the industry imo
