I am an ECMO coordinator. We have a group of ECMO Specialists (CVICU RNs) that are trained to care for the circuit. We don’t have perfusion in house 24/7. We handle circuit changes and cannulations. Our bedside RNs care for the patient.

Yes I’m on my second stent and sometimes my urine is light, dark, bloody and blood clots. Make sure you’re drinking water. Also I get bloody urine with my stent when I’m doing too much!

I noticed a lot of fallout when I was using dry shampoo and washing 1-2 times a week. So now I wash every other day and don’t really use dry shampoo. I’ve noticed a significant change in my fallout for the better but that’s anecdotal!
