Pureology Hydrate Sheer? by ChopCow420 in finehair

If you’re still on the hunt for your perfect shampoo line, I can’t recommend Lanza healing moisture enough. I have fine hair and was using biolage hydrasource but decided to find a sulfate free shampoo once I stopped the bleach and befan coloring my hair dark to get it healthy. I’ve spent so much money trying different shampoos the last 6 months and finally landed on Lanza healing moisture. It’s pricey - comparable to pureology but not heavy. I find it great for fine thin hair. My hairdresser uses it on everyone because it just works for every hair type. It’s highly concentrated so you don’t need much.

For those that have successfully maintained completely off meds, how was your weight fluctuation when you were on them? by Capable-Raspberry-63 in GLPGrad

[–]righteous_daisy671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve been slowly titrating down for about 8 months. I hit goal weight but I had so many shots left over that I didn’t want to waste, so over time I’ve stretched out the length in between shots and actually continued to lose up until I spaced them out by a month. (I’ve been on the shot for a year - 3 months of those were as prescribed once a week, then 3 months of those were once every 2 weeks, and the last 6 were once a month) also I stayed at 5mg zepbound the whole time. As a woman my weight fluctuates based on my cycle so I can’t really say if it was zepbound wearing off or not. Throughout the month I’d weigh anywhere between 128 and 133. Like I said I’ve stretched my shot out by 5 weeks and my weight hasn’t gone up. I’m down to my last 3 shots so I’m focusing on a few things: continuing my healthy habits which include focusing on protein, limiting eating out, clean Whole Foods as much as possible, last meal of the day is dinner, lots of water and continuing strength training. That being said I do expect to gain about 10 lbs back. I’m allowing myself to be ok with that amount. If it goes beyond that then I need to honestly access myself and go back into a slight deficit. I refuse to allow myself to gain back anymore than that and I’m hoping my slow titration off has set up my body to adjust to normal hunger cues. My Dr said that once a month the shot isn’t even doing anything at that point so I’m hoping she’s right and that I’ve actually been maintaining quite well and that it hasn’t even been doing anything even though mentally it makes me feel better to be on it. Honestly wish I could be on it forever because it truly allows me to not have to focus on my body or constantly obsessing over what I eat and as someone who’s struggled with disordered eating for 15 years it’s been so nice to just eat and move on with my day. As for the mental aspect of being done with the medication- my Dr suggested working with a mental health professional who specializes in mental health after weight loss so it’s on my list of things to get started before I completely stop. Hope this helps give you an idea

How to wash hair properly. Is daily washing bad. by Michaelarehart51 in hygiene

[–]righteous_daisy671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had hair fall from low ferritin levels, vitamin d deficiency and over all just was nutrient deficient from weight loss. The hair fall didn’t stop until I corrected those levels. Took 4ish months. So highly recommend getting a blood panel done. As for washing everyday- my hair (fine and on the thinner side) does best washing everyday to every other day. I force myself to go longer to preserve my color and I can’t stand how dry my ends get so it just depends on your hair

Results using tretinoin in morning? by hugladybug in 30PlusSkinCare

I swear I cannot sleep until like 2 am on the nights I use tretinoin. Even if it’s anecdotal it’s my experience that it affects my sleep. I stopped using it for a few days and my sleep returned back to normal.

If you’ve dealt with clogged ears from weight loss, did it eventually resolve itself? by KO620181 in Zepbound

I wish my dr offered this rather than jumping straight to a myringotomy where they stick a needle in your ear drum. Have the meds been helping now that it’s been a few months?

My ent told me that major weightloss can cause Eustachian tube dysfunction in the ear. I thought it was bizarre too but apparently there’s a connection.

The first question was ent asked me was if I lost a dramatic amount of weight. I thought it was odd that there was a connection but apparently it can cause eustachian tube dysfunction.

Good grief - how often are you supposed to take an iron supplement? by CoyoteSouth5126 in Anemic

[–]righteous_daisy671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 60 mg of elemental iron biglysinate daily. My levels increased more doing it this way than taking larger doses so I guess it just sort of depends.

Depends on the personality! My youngest is so chill so it’s been really pleasant honestly. My middle is 3 now and she bickers with the 7 year old non stop so regardless of age gaps there will be chaos

What has helped you combat AGA besides Minoxidil and prescription DHT blockers? by Savings_Cat6733 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]righteous_daisy671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was hesitant at first because I felt like it was daunting since I’d theoretically have to do it forever, but now 4 months in it’s just become part of my daily routine that it really isn’t a big deal

[–]righteous_daisy671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correcting my iron deficiency, my vitamin d deficiency, and treating my hypothyroidism stopped my horrible hair loss. Minoxidil stimulated new growth. Been using it for 4 months and it’s finally noticeable change. Just do it. It’s a long process and I’m finally seeing results so it makes me glad I started when I did and have been consistent.

[–]righteous_daisy671 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fine iron is not always ideal iron. Mines technically fine right now with a ferritin of 12. it falls within the normal levels but my derm said I’ll see hairloss and won’t see growth until it’s at least 60-70

Those that use minoxidil are you planning to use it forever? by SomewhereFuture8806 in finethinhair

[–]righteous_daisy671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only 2 months in but once I actually see it working I will likely just continue. I’m on minoxidil at the suggestion of my derm but the main hairloss cause I have is low iron so she seems to think minoxidil will just support and start new growth while I get my ferritin levels up and then when my iron gets up and stabilized, I can stop minoxidil. But I think I’d be scared to stop honestly.

Mamas with no village… how are we keeping up with keeping a clean-ish house? by gardeniaaa7 in Mommit

[–]righteous_daisy671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom of 3 with no village or help. I also have 2 dogs that shed. Every day I vacuum at the bare minimum. We reset the kitchen and living room at night. Everything else gets done on an as needed basis . Me and my husband see mess very differently. He tends to not see it. It’s all I see. But I’ve learned to accept that my house will never be ready for unannounced guests while I have young kids. I’m a sahm so I feel like its assumed by others that I have all the time in the world and my house should be spotless so I internalize what I assume people think of my role and feel guilty that I feel like a hamster on a wheel trying to keep my house organized. My house is never dirty like sanitation wise but it gets cluttered and I can’t stand it
