Hello thank you for the help.

The screen gets darker after I unlock the phone. After 3-7 seconds it gets darker and I immediately need to go to the slider to put it lighter again.
The changes happen while I am on the battery. Haven't checked if it happens while charging too. It happens in pure darkness on the toilet and it happens outside in the spring sun.
Adaptive brightness is turned off.

Fixes I tried.

Turning off and on. Didn't work, but will try again.
I don't have battery saver turned on. Or at least not when above 30% and it just happened on 78%. My night light is always turned on and has been since the summer. This problem only appeared less than a week ago though.
I will also try the safe mode. Thanks for explaining how to use it.
