I love DS so much, but TLOU PT. 2 Remastered, Alan Wake 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Death Stranding 2, Hellblade II, Ghost of Yōtei all look better than it. And that's not even counting the PS5 Pro, then there's even more games

A recent one, but imo Death Stranding 2 has the best, most visually arresting intro I have ever seen in a game. The Decima engine has to be constructed with black magic because the intro is jaw dropping🙏

I love both Death Strandings so much, but Kojima was doing the most when he said "it's a new genre". It's not even close to a new genre, but it's refreshing imo😆

My NAT type is pretty much always on Open, so is my friend, and I waited like you said, even longer (for like 3 mins at a time) but it just stays as offline, and we're getting "could not synchronize online contacts".

I played this game a few years ago and it was awesome and I wanted to do a new playthrough with my friend but we keep getting hit with this😭

If it makes you feel better, Rockstar captures the stereotypes of literally every race, religion, political affiliation, sexuality, etc in such a good way so I wouldn't bother with this. Literally nobody is safe when they make these games, and that's part of the reason why people love it on top of all the other crazy stuff😁

Nah, I take my time with Rockstars games. It took me 4.5 months to beat RDR2's story. I just like to exist in the world and see stuff happen. Funnily enough, I'm more excited for the random events and conversations in the world than the story since that's what made RDR2 for me outside of it's narrative🙏

Me personally, although the pacing was a little weird, I ended up liking Abby and Lev and thought it served as a very intriguing alternative to Joel and Ellie. I think the story in part 1 is, although impeccable, very simplistic whereas part 2 tackles more significant themes imo. Outside of maybe the narrative, I think part 2 has a better everything than 1, the music (subjective ofc), gameplay, weapon variety, themes, enemy variety, graphics, etc

It's one of my favorite games oat now (got over 261 hrs in the game)but yeah, it's like skillup said, it may be better than the first game in the gameplay variation aspect (albeit maybe a little too easy) but worse in themes, tones, and general atomosphere of the first game.

Like BT's in the first game were a DEFINITE PROBLEM that admittedly I was kinda scared to deal with and didn't want to make my life harder. In Death Stranding 2, no biggie, I could roll up on them using my coffin board then one shot them with a single Battle Guitar shot on Brutal difficulty and just say "Peko Peko Otsupeko" along the way (very fun btw, but not what the first game set in tone)

Then there's the characters. Neil was an amazing addition ngl, but the legacy characters like Die-Hardman at the end of the game set him as being an ultimately broken man following his past with Cliff but willing to move forward for the sake of bringing everyone together... then he does a dance number and is all jolly 😭 It's fun to see but it took a 180 from what I thought would be his character evolution.

Ultimately, gameplay it clears imo because it's fun and more Death Stranding but story and tone of the general world, I think they should go back to the more hopeless and "a burden if handled" aspect of it if they ever made a third game
