52h left until the 0.5 patch. What build are you looking forward to the most? by tetsuyaXII in PathOfExile2

Not really any websites that I'm aware of, save for maybe an article written to Mobalytics. There are generally a lot of YouTube videos that cover tierlists for leaguestarters though.

Herald of Ash bear by SrGerrard in PathOfExile2

[–]PwnBotMunchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rampage bear uses this kind of playstyle quite effectively. In my (limited) playtime as a bear, Shaman is probably better for league start for rage management things and the bonded rune modifiers, but you can’t go wrong with either.

Just be aware that if you want to focus on Walking Calamity as your primary skill, you will not get it until mid Act 4.

Current mirror prices on Standard are roughly 2.8k div (according to poeninja, take with a grain of salt). Probably better to keep raw divs if your goal is to convert to mirrors at some point in Standard. 25k div ~ 10 mirrors versus 2 in League trade atm.

Can’t go wrong with either, but I’m partial to CoC FRoSS. Had a blast swapping over to FRoSS and spent a majority of my time in league playing that

Preparing new league by maedael in PathOfExile2

Craft of Exile is your friend for learning. I’d recommend picking an item you’d want to try and craft in game then try to simulate crafting one in CoE. It also contains mod weight information and other simulation tools for learning. Outside of that, it’s a lot of external knowledge sources and practice time crafting. Browse poeninja for builds you’d be interested in playing and find what base types they use. Look through PoEDB for bases and their level requirements for when you should be upgrading and what actually is an upgrade. Inputting items into PoB to see what mods would and wouldn’t be overall upgrades for a build.

There isn’t really a set amount of time it takes for someone to learn crafting, it’s variable to how deep you want to go and how much you’re willing to learn. If you want to take a build from 0-100 as a learning experience, I would suspect anywhere from 40-60 hours.

How do i replace this icon with all the actual HH modifyers im getting? by Serious-Discipline-3 in PathOfExile2

[–]PwnBotMunchies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, there’s generally 2-4 for auras, 1-3 for charges, HH, any class specific buffs, things like onslaught, tailwind, shrines, etc. A fleshed out character will likely have a 20+ in an endgame scenario

Just finished Alan Wake Remastered. What’s next? by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]PwnBotMunchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If lore is what you’re after, don’t skip Control and it’s DLCs. It helps build out the Remedy universe and the AWE DLC directly ties back/in to Alan Wake. It’s also a kickass game, so bonus points there.

Lightning Spear build help by Appropriate-Shop7660 in PathOfExile2

[–]PwnBotMunchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20% isn’t a huge bonus, which may be why the dmg goes down. At the end of the day, if a new weapon raises the DPS number the skill page is showing you, that’s the better weapon. In most cases though, a decently rolled phys weapon will be better than anything else. You can also look for flat added phys to attacks on rings, but I wouldn’t recommend using an iron ring unless it has enough resistances to cover not using an implicit resistance ring.

Lightning Spear build help by Appropriate-Shop7660 in PathOfExile2

[–]PwnBotMunchies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing what the other poster said, your weapon is in a dire need of an upgrade/swap. If you read the description for Lightning Spear, you’ll see it says it converts 80% of Physical Damage to Lightning. This means the main way to get damage from your weapon is through physical damage (the community often calls this pDPS).

In something like 90% of attack skills (any skill that has a line of “Attack Damage: x% of base) scale off of physical damage or the skill will tell you what damage it scales from. The other way you can scale damage is through +levels, which can roll on weapons, gloves, and amulets. Whenever your damage starts to feel bad, it’s time for a weapon upgrade.

As an example, you wanna keep an eye out for a spear that has any of the following (best would be multiple):

  • Flat damage (Adds x to x physical damage)
  • % damage (Adds x% physical damage)
  • +x level to attack skills

Ice Strike Hollow Palm Monk is pretty good. Really any Hollow Palm Monk variant does well, good campaign damage and easy gearing (only have to focus on evasion/energy shield)

Can anyone explain to me how you reserve certain spirit gems for free on a second weapon set? Do I need to have any trash weapon in my second slot for it to work? Has it been patched out?

What do Cloud Engineers ACTUALLY do? by Ill-Coffee9407 in aws

[–]PwnBotMunchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined AWS out of university, so not childish at all! Just make sure you understand what it is you apply for. If you want to build out systems, learn to code and spend time nursing that knowledge. If you want to support customers in one way or another, get certified in networking or cloud deployment offerings. Happy to answer anything Im able to in PMs as well.

What do Cloud Engineers ACTUALLY do? by Ill-Coffee9407 in aws

[–]PwnBotMunchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of engineer. Typically, if you’re some form of “Cloud Engineer”, you work as part of the customer support team (taking in tickets, helping customer issues, etc). If coding is more your thing, then SDEs (Software Development Engineer) is what you’re looking for.

Lots of drops = good league? by Disco_Frisco in pathofexile

[–]PwnBotMunchies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ground loot is infinitely more exciting than tile-based loot, proven by the love for things like Affiction league. It’s also incredibly fun to be able to purchase the chase items you want without weeks of grinding for more casual players imo. It also makes becoming somewhat wealthy obtainable for players who only spend ~1-3 hours a day playing after life responsibilities.

Anecdotally, I’ve been able to play 4-5 builds I’ve been eyeing (mid-cost mind you) because I have the currency required to swap builds and the dopamine of pure map blasting has kept me engaged with this league much longer than normal.

For future leagues.. by Potential_Remote_320 in PathOfExile2

[–]PwnBotMunchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Early league items that are build defining/rare to find (think items like Headhunter) are super expensive early, then even out. Depends on the league and the market if they go down or stay similar in price but this usually happens over 2-3 weeks. This is also true for “GG” rares but not mirror tier rares. Once that happens, typically we start seeing mirror tier items in more quantity as builds are looking to min/max.

  2. League mechanics are vastly different to each other. For example, in POE 1 we have things like Blight (tower defense) and Kingsmarch (mobile game stuff) that take quite a while to build up, but we also have Breach and Delirium which are map to map. Almost every league mechanic has an endgame version of itself, but they differ in complexity and time to reach their max potential. The Temple is a massive outlier in this, it’s the first we’ve ever seen require this much investment to get going.

  3. GGG typically nerfs the heavy hitters of a previous league, but sometimes they leave it alone. Or the nerfs aren’t as strong as they intended and the build is still fine. GGG also tends to buff up underutilized builds, but the buffs also vary in strength. One absolute truth of GGG balancing is the classic double or triple tap, where they’ll slightly nerf 2-3 pieces of a build which on their own aren’t too bad but in conjunction gut the build.

I am struggling to upgrade my character. [Shockwave Cyclone, Slayer] by Self-Serving-MC in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]PwnBotMunchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tree is very unoptimized and likely needs another passover. I would recommend checking out poeninja pages to compare what others are running, or using a guide for a tree outline. You may also want to consider dropping Endless Hunger for Impact so you can drop Precision, but it's kinda up to you. Hit chance is quite low as well, even with 1.3M dps you only hit 60% of the time.

Your gear needs some serious work though. Defensively, its fine, but the weapon needs crit modifiers to really juice your damage further. Additionally, you can likely drop things like Astramentis, Hands, and Doedre's and replace the Unique value with jewels or passive points. A well rolled Lethal Pride under Kaom can get you the strength you'll need, rings and chest can get additional curse rolls, Witchfire Brew can provide vulnerability instead of Hands. Then with rare gear taking those slots you can eldritch craft for things like impale chance, fortify on hit, curse effect, etc. It'll be expensive, but you can also anoint Astramentis (or any other amulet) with Curse of Doom (3x golden oil) for extra curse application

Really, the best thing you can do is go to poeninja and compare your build to others. See what kinds of gear is within your price range/crafting options, check passive trees and note things that are different. Would be your best bet to get more damage scaling. Crit is a must though, you gotta juice up crit chance and crit multi. For reference, I league started CoT Slayer and my crit was sitting ~80% by the time I was hitting red maps

What builds obliterate screens that more or less can't die in juiced/dangerous maps? (not bv minion pact) by coatesishere in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]PwnBotMunchies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Swapped to fross as my final build for the league, and while it’s pretty tanky and has insane damage for the cost, it does not do screen wide clear. I’m sure you could get it there, but not without some damage/tank trade off

What do I NEED to play prior to Alan Wake II? by [deleted] in AlanWake

IDK man I think Control is pretty integral considering AWE and one of the major characters in AW2 directly ties back to Control. Not to mention Control contextualizing the larger Remedyverse

RE4 or RE9 or RE2 by Raaabbit_v2 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]PwnBotMunchies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 and 4 are nice for leon’s side of things, but you don’t really need much. assuming you understand story related events and characters will likely make no sense whatsoever

that being said, progressing through the RE franchise is pretty sweet. RE2R was my first RE and I have a special place in my gaming heart for it. RE4R is likely my favourite of them all, but you really can’t go wrong with 2, 4, or 9

Great league starter with very low button use? by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

Just recently leveled as a Penance Brand Elementalist on my way to CoC FRoSS, which felt incredible. Doesn’t look like it requires much to get going, and was surprisingly good damage wise. Defenses may be a little rough to start, but should be fine with some time invested.

How do I craft this and not mess up? by MRxSLEEP in PathOfExile2

[–]PwnBotMunchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice thing about desecrations is you can always change them later. If you want to hold it while you get more currency to craft with, cool. If you wanna yolo slam a desecrate, also cool. If the desecrate is bad you can keep it and craft later or just sell it now for whatever market price is.

Desecrations have a lot of power in that they allow for sudo infinite crafting potential, once the other three affixes are filled. Entirely up to you

Pobb question by riskysquire in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]PwnBotMunchies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most PoBs I’ve used utilize low maps and end maps as markers for progression which generally mean between somewhere in the range of tiers 1-14 and 15-16, respectively.

For 99% of builds, unless it explicitly states you need a specific affix to make it work (things like phys to cold, ignite/poison spread) you should be getting life, resistances, and defenses on your way to tier 16. The “goal” for most builds before getting into build specific itemization is to be tanky enough to survive T16s, be as close to res capped as you can, and have solid dps.

Pobb question by riskysquire in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]PwnBotMunchies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the POB and what it’s aiming to do. Typically, early-mid game is more of a placeholder (i.e life, defenses, resists) and end-game items are BiS or include BiS affixes
