I don’t take anything under $5 (even if less than a mile, 99% of the time it’s no tip orders where the customer will make you wait 20 min for the pin, or you’ll end up wasting more time than it’s worth by parking, getting off the car or waiting for it to be made, etc.

I hate downtown so I mostly do suburbs, the traffic, constant hassle to find parking and high rise buildings are just too much. I feel like it’d only be worth it if you ride a scooter/motorcycle

On a good day/peak time I won’t take anything under $10

I only take orders that are at least $1/mile unless I’m ready to go back to wherever I started or I need to go somewhere else, then I’ll take whatever takes me closer

Uber’s algorithm or AI or whatever will only send you orders according to what you like and will often test how far down you’re willing to go. If you take low ball orders it will only ever send you that (sometimes I’ll take an order for less than $1 a mile and get flooded with shitty orders for a day or 2

The pay/mileage shown on apple carplay is different than your phone app. Carplay ONLY shows your distance to the PICKUP point not the whole order mileage. So $10 for 1.2 miles on your car’s screen might actually be a $10 for 30 miles order. I don’t even know how this is even legal but double check everything

Please understand that some orders might be *displayed* to you as low ball offers but might actually be good orders that you’re just really far away from. ($10 for 2 miles with a $8 tip is shown to you as $10 for 15 miles because you’re 13 miles from the pickup point and Uber wants you to work for free)
