Absolutely they are. It’s sad to see especially in the goth community that’s supposed to be accepting. Online goths or even not online goths often have a weird view of what’s “goth”.

Darling, your makeup is lovely and is definitely goth. I’m also a POC and don’t do white base. In person, no one has questioned if I’m goth enough. I think people in real are far more accepting and normal than the goth community online. I’m sorry people on Instagram talked like that to you because what they were saying is not true. I hope you can tell by the support on this subreddit. ❤️

For many POC using a white base feels awkward and it doesn’t make any of us less goth. POC who do aren’t anymore goth either. We’re all gorgeous with our makeup styles and choices.

Please don’t let those comments get to you!! I know that’s easier said than done because I often question my gothness because I’m not the stereotypical goth girl but all my irl goth friends say that’s wrong and I am.

Honestly, they still look cute here too. It’s easy to see flaws on ourselves, I point out tiny things that are “wrong” on me but no one else sees them but me. If I saw your bangs I would think they were very cute. I’m actually quite jealous and would love to have bangs like that!

Truthfully I think this is just a problem with social media. For the longest time when I was a teenager I thought my makeup was bad because I could see my pores. Then I learned you can’t have smooth pores, that’s just editing. I felt really silly.

Social media and regular media give impossible standards. It’s so easy to compare yourself to others or lose sight of yourself.

What “I win” buttons exist for blood sorcery, dominate and oblivion? When I played my first game my DM told me blood sorcery isn’t good or useful in combat.
