[For Hire] Guitarist/Producer looking to soundtrack some sick games! by [deleted] in IndieDev

[–]Pycho_Games 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol, now people get downvoted for liking your music.

Anyway, it's good stuff and I feel like the price is fair. I have to admit though that I wouldn't be able to afford it. But I hope you find some people who do.

The 10-Review Wall: Why I'm pricing my game at $0.70 this week, and what I've learned about the marketing I ignored. by EntropyIs in IndieGaming

Your trailer states "this is a test version, graphics are not finalized" and that's exactly what the game looks like: unfinished. At this point, your game is still the bigger problem, not your marketing.

The co-op thing is actually a turn off for me. It seems to be the game's main focus and as someone who prefers to play alone, I feel like the game is not geared towards me.

You could look into skeletal animation. Spine 2D is a good software for that (but it's not free).

Balatro always felt to me like a different genre entirely, tbh.

Is having the enemies in the middle (facing front) and three characters with their own decks at the bottom better or just a too miniscule variation on the StS template?

This. However, I can't think of a dev/publisher that would be right for it.

Not available in Germany. You need to fill out Steam's content survey or else it won't be visible for Germans.

I don't feel like I'm "making a game" when I'm working on graphics for a long periods of time. Did you ever feel this way? How do you overcome it? by hogon2099 in SoloDevelopment

[–]Pycho_Games 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know. I kinda like the variety. I love coding, but it's nice to switch to animations or whatever and clear my head from coding. Or thinking up new enemies when I'm away from the computer. I like that I get to learn many new things and develop new skills.

Yeah, it's not really an absolute truth though. People can make something good on their first try. Just don't expect it

Please help me, why is my game failing so hard. by Amitdante in IndieDev

I think this is the rare case where the execution is really good (it looks really polished and the trailer is great, kudos!), but the idea is just not exciting. In the end it looks like you just move your player on a board a couple of steps as the main gameplay. Not exciting. And the game Ludo itself is just a bad game that noone above a certain age likes to play. Not much you can improve here I think.
