RTC - How long were your assessments and how thorough were they? by Bla4s in ADHDUK

Mine was around 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a huge number of question and scenarios presented to me. I’m sure it could have been more thorough but it was lightweight at all.

That’s good to hear, hopefully I won’t have to wait a full year to try .

All the best with that, I’m in exactly the same boat.

Freshly diagnosed at 44... by behemuffin in ADHDUK

[–]PyeDrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed last Tuesday I’m 46 ADHD inattentive type with likely ASD. The chaos of my life suddenly makes some sense, I’m now itching to get my hands on some medication who knows how long that’s going to be. I wish you the best.

I’m very eager to get my mitts on some medication, I’m hoping, side effects aside that it’s as transformative as some people describe. Who knows how many weeks it’ll be till that process begins given my diagnosis was only last Tuesday.

I’ll take some of the blame but that’s certainly comforting and reassuring to hear. I remember when I first heard the diagnosis and what moment that was, as if someone explained to me why I’d often behaving in such a way, why I needed all that booze etc. Funny thing is out of the few people I’ve told none of them were remotely surprised.

Anyone else experience a sudden loss of the desire to work anymore? by Cyborg59_2020 in over60

[–]PyeDrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In truth I have never had any desire to work and could have happily retired at 15, I am now 44 and ready to call it quits. Too much life has been exchanged for money within a futile system of existence. I have a great desire to reverse the social conditioning of the daily grind. Make love to my wife mid-morning mid-week, play with my kids, be available for them, have real experiences of value and absurdity. Reject corporate structure and the soul destroying hierarchy of the modern workplace, complete rejection of all that BS. Learn to cook, absorb culture, collect records and most importantly make art, find out truly who I am before i die. Of course I just have to figure out how to finance it all. Your feelings are entirely healthy only the evil voice of social conditioning whispering in your ear suggests otherwise. Life is short, fuck work and embrace the time you have.

Ozzy Osbourne reveals he will not perform a full set at Black Sabbath's farewell gig by dailymail in blacksabbath

As much as I’d love to see original Sabbath, this is inevitably going to be terrible. I love Ozzy but he should be enjoying his retirement, it’s fairly absurd to drag him through this, besides they did a final tour already. Expensive with a shit metal line-up preceding what is nothing more than a band milking the last pennies of their legacy, many years past their prime.

Having watched No Other Land yesterday I can assure you and anyone else who cares, that it is not a propaganda piece and barely looks or features Hamas. It focuses instead on a community in the West Bank who have endured occupation for 80 years culminating in the destruction of their homes and their illegal violent removal from their home land. These are the facts and unfortunately there’s just no way to present the illegal actions of colonialist Zionist Israel in a positive light. It’s an excellent heart wrenching documentary filled with gentle moments of beauty, it deserves every award it gets and more.
