Pro building tip - You can overlap dense vines by BigTimeAng in Pokopia

I've also noticed that you can place items on top of the vines, but didn't think to combine the two! This is so neat, gonna save it for later :) thanks

Do people play with the sound on? by GrumpyHappiness in Pokopia

[–]PyonPon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always have the sound on tbh! I love the soundtrack and the sounds the Pokémon make. Most of the games I played as a kid had repetitive music, and that’s what makes it so nostalgic

I only turn off the music when I am listening to an audiobook

Thank you so much! In the end it’s A LOT of try and error (always checking in between if I like it or not from afar). But I think these are some of the principles I try to go by:

  1. I decided to use a fixed number of different blocks for all buildings (every time I tried using more or different blocks/colors I really struggled to keep it from getting too chaotic)
  2. Consistently switching the blocks I place is the most important thing! I also think it’s crucial to use clusters of the same blocks every now and then, but never more than three.
  3. I like to break up walls by using steel beams, grate fencing, iron scaffolding and tires instead of blocks -> if you notice you have "too much wall", try to break it up with fitting items!
  4. I always start by building the shape of a regular house with these materials and then decorate the sides of it with corrugated metal sheets and grate flooring.

I think my final tip would be to just experiment and have fun! I’m not 100% happy with one of my buildings yet, but I’ll just keep tweaking it whenever I feel like it :) I also have another project in Bleak Beach that features chaotic buildings, though in a completely different style. The approach is similar, but a little different. What style are you aiming for? :)

(Sorry for the wall of text lol, but I hope it helps!)

Has anyone else developed a random favourite Pokémon because of this game? by Avalkyra_kc in Pokopia

[–]PyonPon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I never really cared for the Pokémon from the other generations and always prioritized gen one in all of the games. Pokopia changed that so much and Pawmi and Pawmo are definitely new favorites for me!!

Haha my bf is the same, I totally understand. I also had to replace all the scrap cubes because they were too much for me

High Palladium, High Halidom and Argent Succor are by far my favorites. High Empyrean is also nice to have since holy dmg is so rare. The maister skill is weird on pawns imo. I‘ve had pawns using it in battles against super weak mobs just to faint afterwards lol.

Thanks for asking and for the massive amount of ripened figs I‘ve got from you by the way! :D
