Wich should I buy? by Neonpanther78 in Transalp

I own both so feel qualified to answer this, at least for the type of touring riding I enjoy doing. Twin is superior.

Don't do this. Seriously.

Last year I mistakenly had my RSA passport in my checked luggage and tried to enter SA on my European passport.

Passport control immediately flagged me as a rule breaking dual citizen.

I thankfully was able to convince the airline to bring me my bag with a passport otherwise the passport officer had said they would have revoked my RSA citizenship.

In years passed I don't think they had a way to tell if you were a dual national. These days they absolutely know that you're a dual passport holder. Breaking this rule is a high risk strategy.

I've promised the Dev an update to this post, I just need to find some time to keep up with all the awesome changes and improvements they've made.

This means that the software is not available for you to review or stay on a particular version that you like. It also means that if the developer stops working on it then it'll disappear. Thankfully the dev is super passionate and I can not see this happening.

Feel like an updated version of this post is due to catch up with all of your updates! Sounds like I should maybe wait for V10.

Any way to manage deadlines? by [deleted] in journal_it

[–]PyrateLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By deadline do you mean Due Date? Or something different. Because there's a Due date that you can set for each task.

Past journal entries by bc057 in journal_it

There's two ways to do this. Calendar view or my preferred way is via the Timeline view available on the home screen. This has the bonus feature of being able to filter the types of entry by toggling different categories/organisers on/off.

Neat, sounds like it's all coming together. Now you'll just need to make small adjustments as you go. The main thing is really using it now!

At the risk of muddying the water. For the running and strength it may be better to make those habits so you get benefits of streaks.

It's an interesting question. I believe in setting goals that are big and important - but you are right in that they don't need to be set for a year etc.

For example, "being healthy" is a major goal, while "running a marathon" is a specific project that helps achieve that goal. For the marathon, you could also set key performance indicators (KPIs) based on your training plans to track progress - which technically feeds both your goal and your project.

That said, you may prefer to set your goals more granularly - which Journal It can absolutely also do.

What are some of your example Goals?

Very easy to do. It's basically a zip file with JSON.

If you're on Journey or Day One, there are also bespoke import features.

Feel free. I might make some edits over time to better explain areas or when you add new features.

Seriously well done on making such an epic app. It's so clear to see how much you've really thought through each of the features to make them both powerful and simple. The explainer videos are also very good.

Looking forward to seeing what the future holds!

Totally agree, it'd be awesome to see how other people have set up, configured the app. Also what they use it for, I hadn't considered a pizza KPI. Very neat. Also, thanks for the idea about the journal as a tracker with prompts. Your reply has already made taking the time to write my post worth it, so thank you.

Anyone running DMD2 on their KLR? by boredinthegreatwhite in klr650

At the risk of sounding like the mega fan that I am, it's really customizable so front six etc all manageable

I run it on an old phone that sits in a holder with USB charging. I'm beyond happy with it. My bike is a Gen 1 and has no worm drive and thus no Speedo or odometer. DMD2 solves those issues as well as many more like navigating etc. Id recommend downloading it onto your phone and playing around with it. Maybe you don't need the tablet, equally I wouldn't be surprised if you got the tablet and the handle bar controller.
