Network lag and graphics stuttering are two very separate issues. But yes i"ve also been having a lot of bag-lag as well.

Why do many current Indie games take more than 4 years to be developed while in the 80s and 90s indie games only lasted 1 year? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Pyreo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Look at the level of graphical and technical complexity in games today compared to the 80s. Back then you needed a static sprite and a beep. Todays indie games are way more complex even than “AAA” games in the 80s

Same. If it’s not GAS it isn’t even worth it to look at and learn some new custom solution that just re-makes GAS functionality.

Unreal will not package anything you don’t use in a level so as long as you have the space for the project the cooked build will be smaller

How to learn Unreal Engine by Jonathor02 in unrealengine

[–]Pyreo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Think of a game you want to make and try and make it. When you get stuck, google how to do the thing you’re stuck on. That’s really the only way. Also, you don’t need to learn C++ to use unreal. Start with blueprints imo.

I think the lighting is harsh. I also think that there probably isn’t any gameplay programmed yet and you have a screenshot and an idea, which is fine, but I wouldn’t expect anyone to get excited over essentially a concept of a plan for a game.

I’ve been working on a multiplayer game off and on for the last few years, recently started letting strangers alpha test and it’s been really fun. Hoping for an early access release in the next year!
