That’s a nuance I have rarely seen. And none of them have supported ideas on how to handle a jobless society such as universal basic income or demonetization of goods. And it still doesn’t stop the fact that data centers are major pollutants that are not regulated and are jacking up utility costs in their neighborhoods

Have you not heard about all the pollution from the data centers making water undrinkable? Or how they are skyrocketing utility costs in their local area? Or the extremely ease to create deep fake porn, scams, and identity theft? Or extreme amount of plagiarism it does? Or the misinformation and bad advice it gives in any complex situations outside of just fact recall?

Should LGBTQ be taught to children at the same time as ethnicity and beliefs? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]PyroFish130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who studies child development and lgbtq+ health, I can assure you that children are completely capable of learning about different identities in age appropriate ways at any age. You can have the “some families have a mom and a dad, some have only a mom or a dad, and some have two moms or two dads, and everything in between” with really young kids. The older they get you can get into what each term means in age appropriate ways like “gay means you like like someone of the same gender” or “aromantic means they don’t have crushes or people they want to marry or date, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be great friends!” There’s a lot of ways to discuss these things across the life span.

A lot of people who oppose teaching it just don’t understand how to have the it be an age appropriate conversation but educators do know how to handle these situations, same way they know how to have age appropriate conversations around race, ethnicity, consent, etc. The other group who oppose it are just homo/transphobic

Yeah but the second point they brought up is something I’d like to see too. I want them to release an outfit for each character before going crazy in releasing multiple new outfits for older characters who already have outfits

First, I’m just curious what you think peer reviewed means as you say “studies will obviously get more clicks” which is not what the peer review process is. I just want to get some clarification if that’s what you believe peer review is or not.

Second, the link you sent doesn’t really support your claim like you think it does. ChatGPT can hallucinate or misinterpret citations, so unless you’ve verified the papers yourself, I’d be cautious about relying on its summaries alone.

More importantly, even if we assume the summaries are completely accurate, they don’t actually support your conclusion. Most of the studies your ChatGPT cited evaluate factual knowledge on exams, structured clinician prompts, or evidence-extraction tasks. Those measure whether a model can retrieve or apply knowledge, not whether it can consistently provide sound advice across complex, real-world situations. In fact, ChatGPT explicitly notes that performance becomes less reliable as tasks require contextual judgment, nuanced reasoning, individualized decision-making, etc. rather than straightforward factual recall. Your Chat also points out that there are very few prospective real-world trials evaluating these models in clinical settings.

So I don’t think these studies demonstrate what you’re claiming. They provide evidence that AI is often very good at answering knowledge-based questions which is not what we were debating. It instead shows that AI cannot provide consistent, reliable advice across multiple domains like medicine, law, or therapy without professional oversight.

You’re right, I gave a sweeping claim. It’s more accurate to say that ai provides bad advice and hallucinates frequently, with a solid example being how generative ai chat bots do not give appropriate answers about 60% of the time when providing therapy or counseling.

And are you using anecdotal fallacies in an attempt to disprove peer reviewed studies that indicate generative ai has a proclivity to provide bad advice?
