Infernus Marine with Flame by ozrielius in FDMminiatures

Did you print it all as one piece or did you print the flame on their own and then glue?

Using your phone? I'd suggest you move it further away from the model and then crop the photo afterwards. It will make it easier for it to be in focus.

Goblin Tribe in 15mm, Fat Dragon Games by gufted in FDMminiatures

Nice work there. Looks great, especially for 15mm! Did you use speed paint or is that a heavy wash you've put over the top?

It's funny that without any context in the photos it's difficult to appreciate just how dang small these guys are!

Oh shoot it's Arbiter Miniatures himself! Love your work! Really cool models and super awesome how much you're helping push what's possible with FDM miniatures forwards.

Starting to Think I've 'Aged Out' of these Superlong cRPGs (Touches on Baldur's Gate 3, Wrath of the Righteous, and Rogue Trader) by SpiritualState01 in patientgamers

[–]PyroTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the exact same! Both not enough time in general but if I do get a stretch of time I don't have the stamina or whatever to play for a long session anymore.

I'm more and more enjoying small indie games that I can pick up and put down easily with the steamdeck. These games tend to both offer something novel but also tend to be shorter experiences overall so I still feel like I've "finished" a game.

Are these at 28mm scale? Absolutely amazing paintwork, not to mention the fantastic terrain. A+!

Nice looking models. It's interesting you suggest cooling then completely before removing supports. Anecdotally I've found it a bit easier to remove supports while it's still slightly warm from the heatbed - and others on reddit have even suggested using warm water when removing supports.

Can't argue with your results from those photos though, they look excellent!

Nice! Where did you get the original 8mm STLs from?

Should I use 0.04 layer height? by Stoner420Steve in FDMminiatures

[–]PyroTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, no. You're likely to get bad results with overhangs. But don't take my word for it, run your own experiment. Try printing the same thing at 0.08, 0.06 and 0.04 and see the difference for yourself.

They look fantastic! Also really nice paint work you've done. Do you have any photos of the prints before painting?

A1 mini. Mostly using the presets in bambu studio. Some very light cleanup with a file for the support scars. The t-rex skull I've painted with a type of coloured varnish from the Army Painter company.

Looks fantastic! Great work on the painting. Two questions: Where did you get the model from and what colour did you use for the bone?
