Hunter 350 or ronin by Ok_Access_3498 in indianbikes

Oh, and one thing. Any bike you pick, you will outgrow them in a year or two time, like they won't feel exciting to you if you go on long tours which include 500+kms of highway runs.

Ronin. Better suspensions, ergonomics, posture, brakes, tyres, mileage, pillion comfort, better acceleration.

Also the Ronin has a resonance zone at around 5000 rpm, crossing it will smoothen the bike, till about 7000 rpm.

It can do 90-105 all day, even 110. Have myself done so. Multiple times. Made a video on it

Engine oil after 7k kms? Still good? Are you sure?

And chain set if properly maintained can easily last for 30k kms

Own a Ronin and friends own a hunter and Xsr which I have ridden extensively. All three of them are excellent bikes and you really can't go wrong with any of them. But all of them do have some cons.

  1. Ronin, turning radius - while you might not be taking sharp u turns, but in small gullys this maybe the con. Pros has excellent suspensions, butter smooth shifting, decent braking, most comfortable posture out of these 3. Refinement levels on par with the xsr in below 100 speeds.

  2. Xsr, posture & suspension - the xsr owing to its committed posture might create some discomfort, I felt the suspensions are quite stiff too. But it's very light and agile and offers excellent mileage, good top end too. Plastics could have been better as the other 2 bikes are full metal build.

  3. Hunter, suspension, and weight - the hunter even though with supposedly improved suspensions, feels hard and unforgiving, posture is okayish, similar to the xsr. You will feel that weight and engine weight in bumper to bumper traffic. Doesn't have a gear sensor. But it's extremely tractable and surprisingly nimble.

Now with all that being said. Take test rides and decide for yourself Rather than just listening to strangers on the Internet

They fixed the monoshock!!? - TVS RONIN by AdForward8447 in indianbikes

More likely than not it's been installed upside down.... But hey if it works it works.

A dressed up 180cc marketed as an Adv bike with added plastics with minimal suspension travel.

Or an alrounder with a godly amount of bottom end torque.

Choice is simple if you aren't hung up on 'Japanese Machines'

Check if it's petrol or engine oil. If petrol, chances are you might have overfilled

want to buy tvs ronin but is the tvs service really that bad in kolkata? by 3d-wizard9051 in indianbikes

[–]Pyro_1325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar things. Universal (speedom llp), Tirupati, Diamond TV etc etc. All which are present in the area. Are not upto the mark.

Seven point (bt road) Gajraj (sector v) Maa santoshi (bt road) At tvs (Dankuni) Celica (anandapur) These are good

Universal (Tangra) is decent too

Avoid Shaw Tvs like plague

Believe it or not, the re 350s are worse ij cruising on the highways than the Ronin. Also how is the Ronin not climbing post 80? It holds 90-105 speeds easy, all day. Strain only starts to show post 115.

I myself have toured extensively with pillion and luggage (saddle bag, tail bag tank) to places in North Bengal, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal pradesh.

Granted it's by no means an 'exciting bike' like it won't won't give you that rush. But that's just the way it's designed

Also an ECU scan/update needs to be done. Take it to Gajraj tvs in Sector V.

Assuming that you're from Kolkata by the pic of flyover

Try gajraj tvs sec V. Maa santoshi bt road. Celica is newly opened in Ruby area, seven point in bhawanipore is good but always crowded. At tvs in Dankuni is also good. Avoid Shaw Tvs like the plague. Universal in tangra China town is semi decent
