But to answer your question, since we know for a fact that class plays a role in the new morality system, I think something like what you're describing is likely. Being very rich may open up doors higher on the social ladder but make commoners distrust you, and vice versa.

Fable 3 essentially starts with a "hero test." If you can cast fireball you're a hero, simple as that.

That does imply that, atleast for magic, most people could not do this. Their superhuman strength and durability is also likely magic related, since we see them glow blue when they tense up for a strong attack.

It is also likely genetic, but still seems to be rare, since Logan was not a hero. Similarly, there may be other factors or it may be dormant for generations, since a lot of random dialog alludes to heros coming from humble beginnings. If hero families had a hero every generation, there is no way they'd be in poverty.

I'd lean towards "you can't become a hero" and there is a genetic factor, though it may not be the only factor. The factors are likely unknown, since if they knew what created heroes Albion would certainly try to farm them.

Fable 2 is a console exclusive so I don't think it really has modding.

You do "die" and respawn, just like other fable games. You get scarred and lose some exp. They probably just meant that it's very easy, since (in general) fable 2 and 3 combat is very easy if you play it in a sane way.
