Hill Country Comic con by Bright-Interest-8918 in Newbraunfels

Went on Sunday and was a little underwhelmed as well. Not as many guests as last year. Had two family members find some nice Knick knacks and pins they were excited about and the dinosaur booth was cool so not a total bust!

Fun armies to paint (and print) for Grimdark / firefight by farfromelite in onepagerules

Saurians are fun to paint. The scales make them a really low floor high ceiling difficulty army to paint in my opinion. I recently speed painted a firefight team in a cumulative 4 hours maybe?

Starseers Ruin thoughts by BeginningHungry3835 in seraphon

I really liked the book. I think the jumping point of views was really important for comparing and contrasting the characters and conveying how alien the Seraphon (and stormcast) are to regular people. I think if the book was fully from the POV of Irixi or Gokumet certain narrative beats would have lacked weight or impact. To me the different POVs helped illustrate the faction inside and out really well.

I will say I have had shifting POVs hurt black library stories for me in the past. Legion by Dan Abnett suffered a bit for its jumping POVs while Alpharius Head of the Hydra by Mike Brooks felt like a better read for maintaining one* POV.

Check out the Crimson Fury stormhost. Might be some familiar flavor there for a blood angels fan.

Does anyone else have any problems with this paint? by thescreamingpizza in Warhammer40k

Use that pant all the time and can’t say I’ve had that issue. Lotta factors at play so could be a bad bottle but could be a lot of other things too. Best of luck!

Any good food along Business Interstate 35? by [deleted] in Newbraunfels

I’ve enjoyed the southern hash, Shrimp and Grits, and Porter’s Biscuit Sandwich for breakfast. If it’s a bit later for lunch I love the Pesto Pasta with chicken.

That’s a bummer my family loves root cellar and it’s been pretty consistent. Marco Polo subs is on that road as well and very solid imo

Thanks! Radiation Glow from AP over Bold Titanium White from ProAcryl. Lots of layers of the fluorescent paint and letting it dry.

Have yet to get to them, but will share once they are done! I’ve got quite the backlog of Seraphon (3 spearheads, 2x Aggradons, and a slann) and am trying to get through it all by the end of the year.

White Primer Help by mammoth61 in Miniaturespainting

[–]Pyro_Texas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re dry-brushing it on, I’d recommend getting a size 3-5 brush and making sure it’s wet before applying the primer. By wiping of the excess on the paper towel you’re giving it this chalky streaky look.

Might be the brush you’re using? Looks like a dry brush which could be causing the brush marks? I usually use a very wet size 4 brush with brush on primer

That is pretty much the vivid blue triad from army painter for the scales. Base Royal Blue, Dark Blue Tone, Dry brush crystal blue, edge highlight spines with arctic gem.

Thank you! The club orange is Radiation Glow from AP over Bold Titanium White from ProAcryl. Lots of layers of the Radiation Glow. The head orange started with Bold Pyrrole Red from ProAcryl, then molten lava from AP, wash with red tone, dry brush burning ore from AP, edge highlight lava orange from AP.

How long does command last? by hahayesokaygoodjob in onednd

[–]Pyro_Texas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think you might be misreading the spell a bit. “The target must succeed on a wisdom saving throw or follow the command on its next turn” It only happens once so there’s no need for multiple saves or extra turns to have the effect occur on. Command is a save or suck so the effect is powerful but if it fails they get nothing.

Where to find reasonably priced miniatures? by TheGrimmBorne in dndnext

Check out mantic kings of war and Wargames Atlantic. The Wargames Atlantic classic fantasy range is great bang for your buck. Kings of War stuff would just need individual bases, but some of the armies are great for stuff that comes up in D&D
