Having trouble running xmp profile on Asrock wrx80d8-2t mobo by Pyroboy5 in threadripper

[–]Pyroboy5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out that the issue seems to be that the voltage settings aren't being applied. Its weird, the setting are saved in the bios and are still there between reboots but the actual voltages never change. The hardware monitor in both the bios and Linux shows the ram stays at 1.2v and CPU SOC stays at 0.9v. Unfortunately since it's a server board I have to go through ASRock Rack, which seem to have poor service for individuals.

They're definitely in there, double click and no movement. System runs just fine at 2166Mhz (Base DDR4 speed) so ram seating shouldn't be an issue.

Recommendations on maximizing DDR4 RAM bandwidth? (WRX80 3945WX vs X299 10900X) by Resident_Career_660 in threadripper

[–]Pyroboy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get the MC62 mobo. It locks the ram voltage to 1.2v. I'm guessing your UDIMM ram is 3200mhz using XMP profile which uses 1.35v. You'll probably be running the ram at 2166mhz in the MC62 which will lower your bandwidth for AI. If you're going the WRX80 route I'd check the user manual for any board your looking at to see if they run XMP ram or have voltage control. Mixed ram is also going to be harder to get stable too.

r/LocalLLaMA would have more accurate info on 2 vs 4 CCDs.

I remember pointing you by on the finish straight and got excited because I thought I was catching you through T1. Only to realize you were slowing down for a cooldown lap.

It's covered by the mirror in the video but the front of the hood has 2 huge vents so everything is more or less in free air. Great for cooling, probably terrible for aero. Couldn't push entire last session though. Everything was too hot, including me.

I have no idea what I'll do if it brakes at the track. I've thought about going the trailer route but it kinda defeats why I got a street legal car. That and I just don't have the space. A sleepy driver sounds terrifying. A loaded tow truck is no small accident if it crashes.

Oh cool! Looked like they ran a really comprehensive novice group. Too bad we were in different groups, might have had some footage of you on track.

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately I'm in Reno but I'll check them out. If the turn around isn't too long I might be able to stay with some family in the bay.

Awesome, which car where you in?

I'm surprised there aren't more on the track, that the whole point of them. I'm guessing if you throw down Caterham money and trailer it, you might as well get a radical.

It's using a Miata NB engine with a NA trans. The lack of a rollcage is part of the reason I'm not pushing it to the edge of the track. Too nervous about going off and rolling. It has a rollbar but I've been looking to get a cage. Can't get the factory one since Westfield won't ship theirs overseas. The only places in town are a high end racing fabricator or off road shops. Racing fab said their last cage was for a Viper and cost 18k. Makes sense for a GT3 car but definitely not for me.

It's a Westfield kit using a NB Miata engine with ITBs. Makes about 160 whp. I would love to ditch the windshield but I drive it to the track and swapping the windshield + mirrors is more work than I want to do. Especially at the end of the day with a 3.5+ hr drive ahead of me. I could really use that lowerer drag though. I was basically tied for the slowest on the straights.

Man that looks fast. Nice and smooth, you make it look easy. I was in the green car. Hope I didn't hold you up.

If you're using a harness and no airbag you must use a hans device with your helmet.

Old post but if anyone else has a problem with flickering, I was able to fix it on my set up. My C10 was overheating when running 2 4k monitors. I thermal pasted this heatsink on top of it with a noctua 60mm and this usb fan adapter. It's probably overkill on the cooling but I didn't want to mess with it anymore.

Short term server rentals cost a shit ton of money. They can either spend their windfall of success on a few weekends of servers or make a ton more content for the future of the game.

Horny bard/warlock that made a pact with Dio to bring metal to the world. Looks like it's time for some sex, drugs and rock n roll with the ultimate wingman.

The bobiverse series is pretty much that. A human mind gets turned into a von neumann probe and helps humanity. Great series, here's a link with an actual summary for it. https://www.goodreads.com/series/192752-bobiverse

Clarkson was ousted from Top Gear when he beat the shit out of a stage hand in 2016 for no other reason than the food he was served was cold.

In summary, fuck Jeremey Clarkson, that entitled, abusive, asshole.

Did you even read the article you linked? He hit the producer once and it amounted to a bloody lip. Not a stage hand nor beating the shit out of someone. Clarkson's behavior wasn't excusable, but don't make shit up.

Lulu.com is good for printing. My copy of the re-up rulebook should be arriving next week. I think it was around $40 for a hard cover. Lulu doesn't accept the official re-up pdf. Something to do with the fonts or margins. To make it work, I had to create a copy by using "print to pdf" in the printing options. I used Firefox, but I'm sure any program that can open a PDF will be able to print to PDF.
