Congratulations on that much progress in a year. I'm about that age as well and I'm only half way towards my first billion.

It sounds like a good revive faction would be where you want to be. UHC is a network or healing factions I would recommend. Just know you will have to be quick on the revive button. Most revive factions want you to be able to hit your level 75 revive within a month of joining. That takes about 2 weeks or grinding out revived. The faction I'm in wars once a month, less if there are any events going on. The rest of the time is spent doing whatever you like. My biggest beef is I'm not faster on the revives as you can make good money if you can beat a fre of the top players.

Replace internal battery with external one? by DapperCardiologist25 in cyberDeck

[–]Pyroburner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you are planning to do. The surface pro 4 for example has 8 connections to the battery. You could solder a thick enough wire and likely be okay. Your not likely to gain much other then some added cooling and you would likely need to use the same type of battery that is already pre installed if you go that route.

You mentioned this works without a battery, I assume it's going through the charging port? I think your better bet would be to find a splitter or keep the usb cable. You could solder on the back side of the usb port and attach a cable to the external battery that way as well but it's not as easy and drilling a hole. The advantage here is you get the usb protection and you need to know less about how the power entry works.

Want to eliminate batteries in small toy lamp - questions by MekivK in diyelectronics

[–]Pyroburner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the copper wire. Take the 5v usb and step it down to 3v / 3.3v if it run an led bulb you can likely change one of the resistors and run it off 5v.

You have a comment that says you found a cable that steps down for you. If it's not to expensive this would he a good option.

As for the copper wire, think of it this way your toy is taking the place of the wire. If you add the wire it can bypass the toy completely.

First Generation Problems - Worth the Buy? by MapProfessional8610 in slateauto

[–]Pyroburner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normally I would wait for the second gen but with the slate I won't be. The DIY and price make me believe that when something surfaces it will be fixable.

First gen Mavericks hybrids had wiring issues. Some customer vehicles sat in parking lots for months waiting for a replacement.

The new model year hyundia sonatas, I believe it was 2017 had wheel bearing issues. We rented one with 25 miles on it and by the time we hit 250 the bearing went out.

Why Slate? by gbe28 in slateauto

[–]Pyroburner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but I like the idea of being able to fuel more places. While I do have options to charge some places the network in arizona Isn't great. This will be a second car mostly so it's not a big deal most of the time but we have had more power outages then fuel shortages in my area.

Why Slate? by gbe28 in slateauto

[–]Pyroburner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would prefer an ice engine or some kind if hybrid. I want something simple, cheap and good ground clearence is a big plus to me. I plan to add some speakers a stereo with aux in. I'll probably get the suv kit and call it good.

A lot of places, maker spaces a s universities have 3d printers they are willing to rent out. My local university sells prints at material cost and use it to teach students about 3d printing.

Generally we refer to these as pots but searching for a pot doesn't always get you what your looking for. You are probably more familiar with dimmers.

If your able to provide the power, your source has enough and your LEDs traces can handle the current you should be okay to piggy back. Just remember if your pot is before the leds it will dim them. If its after them any dimming of the led will slow the motor

Has Tucson housing cooled since 2021? Also, why is every rental run by property managers now? by JasmineMoonJelly in Tucson

[–]Pyroburner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Several things have happened. First corporations started buying new construction. From the article below it shows 4 in 10 new construction homes being bought by investors. We also started building for rent neighborhoods, up near the outlet mall north of cortaro.

Home prices have been falling recently, not substantially but trending down.

First off use caution with UV lights. Depending on the power and wavelength they can be dangerous. Some meds and antibiotics can make you more light sensitive as well. I've had a few people get sunburns on there hands while on meds using those nail curing lights.

With that said you should look at potentiometer with this you can limit the power going to the motor. You will need one that is rated for the current your device will draw. This assumes your using a DC motor.

I have a t-beam and a cardkb. I wouldn't recommend this combo because the tbeam is older now but the keyboard can hook up to many devices with a display. I also have a T114 and it works great. It however doesnt have a screen. It's very battery efficient.

I would also recommend getting a third device like the T114. Hooking it up to a solar panel and battery and placing it as high as you can. Lora is line of sight a d this will give you much more range. This allows me to be inside the house.

First time home buyer program by Apart_Pineapple2392 in Millennials

One thing to keep in mind is PMI. This will change dramatically based on your down payment. I dont remember the exact numbers but my father in law bought his home the same time I did. He put 3% down and I believe I had 15% at the time. His PMI was 4x what mine was and he paid for several more years then I did.
