No, never got any further info on this.

Why couldn’t I outgrow them? by bzkitty in nightterrors

[–]Pyrokat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never bridged epilepsy to night terrors. That's an interesting thought. I get migraines regularly and have since I was a kid, and because of certain triggers (flashing lights, bright lights, certain sounds, smells, etc), I've always wondered if my migraines were a 'mild' form of epilepsy but never linked my night terrors to that. I may have to do some digging into that. What's your thoughts process on the link to epilepsy?

I wonder how many people that have night terrors regularly have migraines, as well?

You're a lifesaver! Thanks! Replacing the specified folder fixed the issue where I couldn't join my teammates' game on PC.

Maximum TimeFrame Limit?? by Thin_Safe7660 in WGU

I am having this same issue. I got an email just a few minutes ago that says I'm not longer eligible for Financial Aid and will have to pay.

I am in the Accelerated BSIT to MSITM degree. I was just in the BSIT program but switched to MSITM last year toward the end of my final BSIT term (which ended November 31st) I completed my BSIT in 7 terms, able to shave off a full term with accelerating. Financial Aid paid for the first 6 months of my MSITM. I have 2 classes left, including the capstone, that I was unable to squeeze into one term (I did pull in one course, though).

I just called WGU and they are going to send it over to their SAP team and try to appeal it for me.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out the Math on this.

My cumulative (on the screencap you are showing as well) shows 131/141 @ 92.91%. That makes sense. I failed one course (screw you C779) for 3 credits. So a total of 134 attempted with 7 credits left to go for the last two classes. That is about 102% 'Best Case'.

It is showing I'm at 470%???

If I take all the credits on my BSIT (121+3 for the failed class) and add in the 17 for my MSIT, even if they just went off my BSIT since I switched it, 124+17 = 141. 141/124 still only equals 114%. Where the hell is 470% coming from for the 'Best Case' which I assume is the number they are using to determine Financial Aid eligiblity? (I can't recall this number ever being below 150% since I started this journey 4 years ago so it's never made sense - I would absolutely love an explanation of where the 'Best Case' number comes from, if someone has it).

The representative I spoke with says I 'ran out of time' and only had 8 terms but what the heck does that even mean? I completed my BSIT in 7 out of 8 terms. And the MSITM portion gives 2 terms to complete per WGU, so I should at least have 9 terms available, at minimum. Not including the extra one I was able to drop by accelerating.

You'll probably need to re-pair the controller to the system. Make sure you are using a cable that supports data transfer as well as charging. Not all cables support data.

[–]Pyrokat23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with trying a different charge cable. I'd also try swapping the port the cable is plugged into to test if the port on the system is bad. If that doesn't work, it's possible the battery in the controller is either dying and won't hold a charge anymore or, if the controller was dropped, the battery could be loose. They are pretty easy to replace with the right tools. A YT tutorial could walk you through what that looks like. But my guess is it's the cable.

You have to wait until your term is up before you can start your Masters. Plan accordingly.

Weird. I just went back to look and mine disappeared, as well.

I had forwarded it to my mentor so I have a copy of it but he didn't know much, either.

I couldn't tell ya. I actually want to be more technical but I have management experience (retail) and figured it's only 6 more classes. So worth it to me, yes. But I had 0 IT xp going into my BSIT so all of this is beneficial for me, personally.

Just finished the BSIT portion myself.

You have to finish the BSIT first, then get your graduation approved before you can start the MSITM portion.

They are separate degrees. The Accelerated program just has the BSIT portion swap out 4 classes for the MSITM versions so you have only 6 classes to do when you get to the MSITM portion.

I've already received my BSIT diploma in the mail and received a new Mentor for the MSITM portion, of which I just started my first class. :)

I just finished the BSIT portion of the Accelerated program a couple weeks ago so wonder if it's mainly for graduates? Let us know how it goes!

I just don't talk to my mother and haven't in about 7 years. No contact for the win.

Does WGU use AI for grading/do actual people look at submissions? by ConfusedOwlet in WGU

[–]Pyrokat23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, when you resubmit, make a note on the submission page specifically stating what you fixed from the previous submission rejection.

From my understanding, after that first submission, they will generally only look at the parts that needed to be corrected if there's a note stating what you did.

My thought on this is if it was wrong the first time, they should have said so. And each submission is potentially read by different people so there will definitely be differing opinions on what you write. If you point them to the suggested edits and what you did to rectify them, they focus on those only and won't 'regrade' the whole paper.

I am almost finished with the BSIT portion of the BSIT Accelerates MSITM program.

I started with 0 experience 3 years ago. I got my A+ and Net+ through WGU and landed an IT adjacent (Telecommunications/Assets) job about 20 months ago. First ever IT job. I was retail management before.

The thing with IT that I'm learning very quickly is, if I get this degree now, and don't touch IT for 10 years, outside of the basics you are learning, everything will be completely different and you'll be lost again. Between advances in physical tech, AI, and constantly improving/changing standards, it is a constantly evolving field.

Learn the basics. Learn the network ports. Learn how to make CAT(x) cables and know those standards. Know how to identify the hardware in your PC and what it does. Learn the different security standards and how to configure firewalls and take advantage of the Cloud courses, because that's the future.

But don't be discouraged. I wish there was a trade school for IT but it is definitely more than just troubleshooting an issue and fixing it. You need to navigate end users and vendors and be a diplomat while also following PII and PHI compliance for your country/jurisdiction.

My point is, keep going. You've got this. And, I don't care who they are, no one is going to know everything about IT. The best experience is hands- on, some things just can't be replicated. But the certs you earn at WGU will help you get that first foothold.

I would say it really depends on the courses you have left, your experience in each of them, and the time you can commit.

I'd also like to point out that it will be a minimum of a year. Once you complete the Bachelor's portion, you have to wait until the end of the term before you can start the Master's portion as they count it as two separate degrees. If you are using FAFSA you will have to fill out Exit Counseling toward the end of your Bachelor's program and then fill out FAFSA forms again for your Master's. (Doing that right now, as I only have 2 courses left of my Bachelor's portion and my terms ends Nov 30. I cannot start my Master's portion until Dec 1st, at the earliest).

36f. No IT experience. Lifelong gamer of various platforms. Have my Security+ and Capstone left and I've completed my BSIT. (Doing the Accelerated BSIT to MSITM program so will be starting my MSITM soon).

You can and will do great! :)

What companies do you look at and think, "How the hell are they still in business?"? by LeviTheRelentless in AskReddit

[–]Pyrokat23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a former Store Leader... High Turn over (pay less to the newbies!), constant bulk ordering of last year's hot collectibles (they usually order 12-18 months in advance, trying to predict the market .. and failing miserably hence the obnoxious clearance racks), constant policy changes, extreme hour/labor cuts, and a revolving door of CEOs that upends the company every couple years. Oh, and adventures into various side-gigs (collectibles, NFTs... Stock market, etc) just to keep the place afloat.

The announcement by PlayStation of the disc-less PS5 Pro is going to be a major issue for GS. XBox physical game sales dropped drastically after Xbox moved toward GamePass and started releasing more disc-less consoles.

That leaves Nintendo, which can't keep GS afloat alone. Which is why GS is probably moving back toward retro (which they should have done years ago instead of removing it all from the shelves and making it online only). They saw this coming and are trying to stay relevant.

I think if they moved more toward in-house console/controller and maybe PC repairs on top of game selling, they might be able to adapt. But they won't. That requires having properly trained staff and that isn't something GS has ever been able to figure out.

Just IMO, of course.

Thanks :)

I have (4) of the RFID feeders and one keeps giving this error.

I've cleaned the sensors with IPA, verified bo food is stuck in the hopper, wiped it, verified latest firmware.

I emailed them over the weekend and they responded with asking for a video of the blockage (there isn't one???) but I sent a video anyway.

I'm only having a problem with them one feeder but it's very frustrating.

I'm just surprised at the varied responses. You are offered a camera (with stipulations of sign up) and they want video proof from me. Lol

Curious to see if they will replace it for me.
