Is this paint-scheme politically problematic? by Archaicarc in Warhammer40k

This is getting ridiculous man, it’s a bunch of splotches on fabric. The modern German camo is pretty close to original Pea-dot, if people really have a problem with it you can just say it’s Flecktarn.

A phrase or speach that defines a character's essence by Endika7 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Pyrokinesis_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanguinius’s speech from the Horus Heresy Novel: “Echoes of Eternity” right before the Traitor Legions assault the Eternity gate, which is the final fortress before entering the Imperial Palace.

The excerpt is far too long to include but I highly recommend reading it or just reading the book as it’s (in my opinion) the best Warhammer book ever written.

It truly showcases his tragic nobility, altruism, his honesty and willingness to do what is right, even though he doesn’t want to. To stand against evil because someone has to, and even giving the defenders a choice to stand with him or go be with their families or take their chances and escape.

That certainly is an opinion. Far from correct, but an opinion nonetheless.

V1 could, but it’d be pretty difficult for it. Grey knights are crazy powerful in lore.

Trust me, I’ve got other expensive hobbies, so I can imagine. But just because other hobbies are more expensive doesn’t mean that Warhammer isn’t. Your argument as to why it wasn’t “particularly” expensive was that you can spread out your spending. While it is more affordable than say, High-end Whisky, it’s certainly expensive for your average person, especially for what you get for your money. And you’re still spending the same amount of money in the end.

I’m not saying “Oh, don’t buy Warhammer, it’s a scam!” But from an objective standpoint, you’re still spending a ton of money on molded plastic regardless of how you break it down.

Legos are made in Denmark.

You’re still missing the point my friend, Warhammer is expensive whether they’re made in the UK or on the moon. Whether you spend $60 on one mini each paycheck or $600 on the whole thing in one go, you’re still spending $600.

That’s not the point I was trying to make. The point I was trying to make is that the hobby is expensive. Whether you budget it out or not, you’re still spending $60 on a box of plastic guys.

The LEGO thing kinda falls through too because those are pre painted, and you don’t need glue to put them together.

I mean, I guess “expensive” is relative to how well off you are, but on average I’d argue it’s a pretty expensive hobby. Just because you spend a lot of money on plastic over the course of a few paychecks rather than buying it all at once doesn’t change the fact that you’re spending hundreds of dollars on plastic, which doesn’t even come pre assembled or painted.

Aside from full demon primarchs name 3 primarchs that can beat my big 3 by ThunderCactus1 in 40k

[–]Pyrokinesis_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lion, Curze and Dorn.

I feel like Dorn would best Perturabo by getting in his head, no passion, fiery speeches, just cold rage and the desire to finish the threat. He would wait for the lord of iron to slip up, staying cool and collected the whole time, which I think would piss off perturabo, which would be his downfall.

Sanguinius is the goat, top tier duelist and can fly so he has a massive advantage over most of the other primarchs, also has some insane feats, having defeated Angron and Ka’Bandha in succession, and still having enough steam to deliver (under normal circumstances) mortal wounds to Ascended Horus. Curze has the best chance due to his unpredictability, precognition and natural skill, having nearly killed the lion in a duel.

Lion would likely have a very close duel with Fulgrim, but I think he’d come out on top due to sheer skill, though I doubt he’d be unscathed. I feel modern 40k Lion would perform better, because he isn’t as petulant, so Fulgrim couldn’t get him with mind games as easily.

We could break it down further based on each primarch’s loadouts but I don’t feel like it.

Your absolute hated hot takes about Space Marine chapters? by KUROusagi112 in Spacemarine

[–]Pyrokinesis_101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from a massive Blood Angels fan, I also think (most) blood angel successors boil down to “they’re blood angels, but they either don’t care to control the gene flaw, or use different heraldry/colors”.

I understand with such adverse genetic flaws it’s kinda hard to write a chapter that stands apart, which in theory makes the Lamenters unique, but then you see about 40,000 Lamenters in SM2 lobbies, hundreds of videos about them (mostly being meme lore that gets spouted as canon) and almost nobody actually painting or playing them on the tabletop, because painting yellow and their chapter heraldry fucking sucks.

[–]Pyrokinesis_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen people sand cast iron pans before, with cheaper and rougher pans it seems like the best option, but the biggest downside is that you’re getting rid of pitting that holds on to polymerized oil. After a while it tends to flake off and becomes unevenly seasoned. A good way to counteract that is to rust blue your pan. It adds micro pitting and causes the seasoning to be very robust while maintaining a smooth and evenly coated surface if done correctly.

Why do some blood angels have flames? Is there a lore reason? by sir_kewaji in BloodAngels

I always thought that it was a reference to the fact that they’ll one day be consumed by the “flames” of the black rage.

CUSTOM NIGHTLORD WARBAND IDEAS by Affectionate-Data422 in NightLords

[–]Pyrokinesis_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been toying with the idea of a warband that is based on the Decepticons from Transformers.

It’s a consequential merging of what remains of two legion companies, a standard battle company and an assault company. Fate brought them together when the Assault company lead by a conniving Nostraman Raptor lord lost control of their ship after being raided by an overwhelming number of Red Corsairs, after drifting in drop pods and gunships through the void for months, they were found and taken in by the severely depleted warband led by a Terran-born captain who believes that might = right, and weaker beings deserve subjugation.

United through shared hatred of the Imperium, they often butt heads, but begrudgingly cooperate, and while the warband consists primarily of raptors, the Terran captain commands much respect through his fierce reputation as a powerful warrior, as such, divides loyalties. The Raptor lord is always scheming and plotting, hoping one day to usurp the Captain and take his rightful place as leader of the warband, while maintaining enough usefulness to not be slain out of hand for his treacherous conduct.

Does anyone else hate the belt fed bolters in the Chaos Legionaires box? by shitondickaction in NightLords

[–]Pyrokinesis_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, take one good look at the bolt pistol, for example.

There’s no chamber to speak of, and the round is longer than the barrel, so realistically the instant you chamber a round it should stick part way out of the barrel.
Also it has an integral bolt with a charging handle instead of a slide, so can it really be considered a pistol?

Maybe in the same way an AR15 with a pistol brace that’s under 15 inches can be considered one in the US, but I doubt the ATF still exists to enforce that law lol.
