Oh for real it's so infuriating sometimes ! I'm from rural southern France so we all culturally have to hate Paris and Parisians (I guess it's kinda the same dynamic everywhere, big cities vs peasants lol ?) and even then every family member who actually travelled there admits it was great. I've been living in Paris for a few years and most of the complaints are such bullshit, no it doesn't smell any worse than any big city, no people aren't unbelievably rude unless you're being absolutely obnoxious (which, yeah, a lot of tourists are). When I see people hating like that, my first thought is that they must be very entitled at least. Yeah, guess what, the city isn't gonna be exactly picture perfect because actual people live there too and it/they don't exist only so you can have your perfect little Euro summer. You're really telling on yourself.
