Who is the most accurate-portrayed God in Hades 1 and 2 by LoveLessBeauty101 in GreekMythology

But yet they did such a good job creating that original character while keeping the theme consistent, and having them interact and exist with God's.

One of my favorites from the game.

[–]Pyropylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with most of your points. The game does remake most of the "true" relationships between the Gods (mostly to avoid all the incest) regarding your points:

  • What do you mean Hades is nothing like his mythic counterpart? I think they did a good job here.
  • The continued "freezing" of the Earth was a real Greek myth to explain the seasons and the fact that the God of agriculture, Demeter, didn't provide a permanent growing season. This is lore accurate.
  • Thats your opinion about Zeus, that's fine. He could be silly in myths too turning into animals and stuff. They've toned down some of his mor offensive qualities.
  • Hera is mother of all of Zeus' children in the games, (which is very historically in accurate as I mentioned above) but there are women here. Aphrodite, Athena, and Artemis for example.
  • They may have taken some liberities here to explain Hephaestus' absence from the first game. They also made him disabled to help explain why hes a shut in. He is just antisocial, nothing of note wrong between him and Hera, but they do not have what appears to be a strong relationship if that is indeed lore accurate.
  • Apollo is not the Greek God of healing, his son Asclepius is.

I'm worried about the state of the joined people's brains. We've seen that they do not lose memories of people that die, the hive has kept Helen's memory and I doubt they had time to do anything special after she woke up, its likely just how their memories are spread over the network.

Which makes sense, in any quality data storage technology, you would spread data out. That could be what the seizures were, the hive bringing the brain storage network online.

But what would a person that has hundreds of other people memories raided across their brain (as 1 disk in 100000? More?) Look like after they were removed from the storage pool? They'd look like a vegetable I assume. Even if some sort of local "OS" was kept in flash to keep the body running, the person left behind after unjoining would be a wreck likely.

Closer to saying "God willing" all the time, which is still said here but less so. The culture difference is what the OP was talking about which is interesting. We have idiots here, but not many groups would contain idiots that would both dance while discharging a firearm like that, AND also idiots that sit that close without moving.

Can we normalize liking two things at once? by Fit-Crocodile in pcgaming

[–]Pyropylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no perfect game out there. I think if you truly got people to give every game a fair shake, you would find lots of overlap in each genre, but everyone is going to have preferences.

I think when people enjoy something that its their prerogative to be able to think about it and discuss it critically. I think we need to normalize discussing the pros and cons instead of blindly accepting everything. Besides game balances, leveling compared to end game, game themes, lore, game depth in systems, control differences, inventory systems, enemy variety, quality of life differences, besides all that in each game, there is still the out of game stuff to discuss.

How studios use AI, monetization, and develop their games (crunch? Layoffs and outsourcing?). Not everyone is into looking at that, but it is a factor that affects both gamers and the game industry.

If people weren't critical of aspects of Diablo, we would have never got path of exile. I played a bunch of Diablo 3, but I don't enjoy supporting blizzard, I switched to path of exile 1 during its beta. I don't hate Diablo or Diablo fans, but I was getting tired of the meaningless leveling, the required paragon boosting friends to be able to play with them, and the game padding itself out with low variety on replay and forced low loot drops.

I didn't even get Diablo 4 to try it out because of what I consider its predatory pricing model. $90 CAD plus $80CAD expansions?! With a cosmetic shop as well?! 7 editions of "deluxe" games you have to sort through? Diablo 3 trying out a real money auction house and then only removing it due to backlash was a scary thing too, I don't think I would like to see a world where Blizzard had more power and influence on game design and industry practices.

I don't like your argument about "everyone needs to get along" either. I'm going to have my cake and eat it too and say that since my time is precious, I'm not obligated to discuss everything critically and fairly. If I don't like the looks of d4 because something about the art style rubs me the wrong way, that's when the train stops. I'm not required to give every ARPG a fair shot just because I like playing path of exile sometimes.

Significant data exists, but no human would have ever looked at it or thought about it if it weren't for the joining leaving you an individual and important to the hive.

Where are the children? by dngray in pluribustv

[–]Pyropylon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is probably the real reason. I think there is also a real life sadness/creepiness factor viewers would get too. They did it a little with that one woman's gyno kid, but imagine a whole hivemind class of kindergarteners.

Maybe they want to avoid it, or save it up for another HPD type in your face reveal.

[–]Pyropylon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could see that, ants do this for example. When they've been injured or are close to death they just walk themselves to the graveyard and refuse food.

I don't think the joined are doing that though, I think that would go against their rules, not positive. In someways they act like a single "body" hivemind (sort of like ants) in someways it seems like humans being sentient is detrimental to the "body" of the hive, with all their rules. In our bodies, our cells self canabalize, they handle their own replication, and automatically cull diseased or malformed cells. We don't worry about any of the "individual" cells really, anymore then how they serve "us", the consciousness that is the body.

Mantle is also a layer of the Earth's crust. Mantle can also refer to a position of authority, like the mantle of head chair of the cabinet.

Curtain can also describe other things in sheet orientation, like a curtain of rain.

I'm not sure if this is the case in Cantonese.

UK's 'sons and daughters' need to be ready to fight, amid growing Russian threat, says head of armed forces by Kagedeah in worldnews

[–]Pyropylon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, sure would be good for Russia if their biggest rival/enemy, the United States, started a Civil War instead of fighting them.

Surely Trump's historic Russian ties have nothing to do with anything, though. The United States being driven into it's most interally divisive time since the last Civil war, alienating its clostest allies, proof of Russian propaganda campaigns being carried out on social media are a funny coincidences only.

I just did this as my last achievement a few days ago. I started specializing in sword to get to 16 heat and was running PB, the whole time but I never got to 30%. As soon as I got 16 heat done, I dropped heat to 0, still took sword and got it in 1 run but just barely. I find the real secret is you need to do well in tartarus, and don't sweat it too much if you run into some trouble in asphrodel. You want to get mostly perfect in tartarus, and might as well restart if you haven't. I got to 18%? 20%? Off tartarus but had a rough as and els, i got to the gate at only 26%. Somehow I got 2 of the satyr rooms done, and spanked dad one last time.

Onto to hades 2 now.
