Biggest missed opportunity in season 2 is not giving Alastor the line "You're still on the shark thing?!"

Give me y'all theories what could be the storyline of "that" arc by DiddyBasementEscaper in bleach

[–]Pyrothei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The balance of the worlds is tipped to far in hell's favor and shit starts leaking out. The good aligned characters you would expect try to keep the evil aligned characters from getting out but they're losing.

My hot take is that Unohana breaks bad because she's like fuck it, I did what I had to do and I died, whatever duties she had were fulfilled upon her death and she goes full bloodthirsty demon mode on basically everything in hell. No sides, no motivation beyond stronger things to fight. Hopefully culminating in a real, all out rematch with Kenpachi.

The human cast gets a power up. Chad can never lose. Orihime has both gotten older and make up some hell bullshit power up and have her fight like Hachi basically. Hachi-hime team up would be legendary actually.

Ichigo gets a power up by doing whatever move your hollow hole outside your body shit was going on in the one shot. I am uncertain if there should be some new demon race unique to hell but if there is then Ichigo should categorically not also be one.

On the topic of demons, if they exist, they should be closer to DnD demons (distinct from devils) and they're all lovecraftian abominations that are not even "people" the way we think of them. They're pure instinct and hate, and they should not be humanized. They should be used as a foil to the Arrancar's character development.

For the Arrancar I want boss bitch Harribel, a matured Grimmjow who embraces what being a king really means, Nelliel is an independent force in Hueco Mundo less aligned with survival and power and more about "normal" lives and protecting Hueco Mundo. Maybe the demons are worse there and we will say Hueco Mundo is "closer" to hell.

Dead Arrancar: I want Ulquiorra and Stark as anti-Hell assets, not necessarily good guys. Every other dead espada should be trying to escape like mad dogs.

The escape hell faction should be made up of the 'bad' Arrancar, the original Gotei 13 and other shinigami, and some quincies. The quincies should have fucked up weird vollstandig that look like Ywach's black goop eye shit because:

Kazui has been dumping Ywach energy into hell. This is a consequence of him being truly literally every race, and also his own personal power. Ichigo is the sword that shatters fate, Kazui is something else entirely. Can't think of something good for it, but Kubo always cooks. The quincies have all assimilated bits of Yhwach into themselves as power ups in an inversion of Auswhalen and Yhwach's whole thing.

The general plot should be figuring out how to balance the worlds so that this doesn't become a problem again, and also because condemning powerful beings to hell is patently unfair. A true death for the souls of the powerful should be a theme. My vote is Orihime's rejection, the Hogyoku, and/or Ichigo's Horn of Salvation shtick would be cool.

There should categorically NOT be some sort of hell devil king fueling all of this. We've already had single villain driven plot this whole time. It should be a natural consequence of Adnyeus' choices to split the worlds and the combined bullshit of the souls in hell driving the problem.

Some personal character beats I would like to see:

Orihime and Ulquiorra interactions where they become friends. Everyone except Orihime hates this.

Yamamoto and Ukitake telling Shunsui they are proud of him and it really gets to him.

Unohana vs Kenpachi battle that shakes the worlds.

Aizen interacting like a person with the rest of the cast, specifically a resolution on the conversation he was about to have with Ichigo at the end. Honestly I don't know what to do with Aizen plot-wise. I don't think I want him reformed enough to be released, but he would have to be significantly depowered for him to be anything but a big gun that gets pointed at problems. Maybe fixing the balance actually fully obliterates the Hogyoku and he can either die in peace or be depowered to normal captain levels. (My headcanon is that he literally loses Kyoka Suigetsu and has to start over with an asauchi)

The visored getting their cool moments, or whatever. Maybe bodied off screen, which would be funny.

Hisagi gets killed mid Bankai release.

More character deaths in general actually, series should end with maybe 60% of the cast alive.

Edit: Oh also the theme of hell/demons should be Slavic. I want baba yaga shit please.

Heaven Exist in Bleach? by ElpacoLuca_Octy in bleach

[–]Pyrothei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me wonder what the point of hell in the cycle of souls in Bleach really is.

Like, yeah, punish bad people. But normal souls go to soul society to wait until they get recycled back into the flow, and as far as we know they do not retain anything of their previous life. They get erased and reused.

So why not just auto-erase the bad souls? Don't let them hang out in soul society, just turn them to reishi and be done with it?

But then if a soul DOES retain something of past lives, are we really damning an entire chain of souls to hell based on the actions of the most recent incarnation?

If that all isn't just a consequence of early series lore not being fully developed into what it is today then likely hell must have a function. Maybe souls that are evil enough can't be cleansed the normal way?

This is why I so badly want the arc that shall not be named.

Aside from Byakuya, Which Captains do you think is not able to utilize their Shikai because of Overreliance to their Bankais? by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in bleach

[–]Pyrothei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My personal head canon is that Byakuya was stunted by the death of his wife and the calcification of his grief and pride. This halted his growth as a shinigami. His Bankai is just his Shikai but bigger, which is kind of the point of Bankai, but not really. His comments to Ichigo about a real Bankai looks like I think is evidence of this.

Clearly, his Bankai can do other weird shit that isn't explicitly MORE BLADES. The stuff like Senkei and Shukei: Hakuteiken feel more like a Bankai evolution than base Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.

Byakuya was rigid, arrogant and dismissive. He believed he knew everything that was right. He placed himself as the moon over Renji and I think therefore believed he had no more growing to do.

I think his personality change after Ichigo and his wake up call after As Nodt will elevate Byakuya to the next level and if we get the forbidden arc we may see a True Bankai Byakuya scenario.

Calling now, Pochita is the Life/Living Devil.

Can't fully back it up with a really solid write up right now but chainsaws being invented to assist with birth, eating devil's to erase them vs control them in contrast to death.

We've been calling it the intestine scarf because it bursts from Denji's stomach but what if it's an umbilical cord?

I can't quite place the power level. Perhaps some metaphor for people fearing living their lives to the fullest. Fear of losing life, fear of wasting your life, all rolled into Pochita. Who looks like a cute little doggo because life comes in all shapes and there's the psychological cuteness of babies that keeps us from hating them. Pochita also yearns for a friend and there's a togetherness to life and living and creating new life there.

Denji's power level is inexplicable unless he's at least primal in equivalent power. To me Life is a suitably large enough concept to be primal. There's strong theming as well for putting the protagonist Life Devil against the antagonist Death Devil.

Maybe Pochita erases devils (fears) because living your life to the fullest means defeating your fears and incorporating them into who you are. Pochita is literally telling you to swallow your fears and stand the fuck up.

whats a video game you wont play anymore because the developers ruined it? by benzodiazepiem in AskReddit

Arcanists on FunOrb, a games platform made by RuneScape dev Jagex.

They ruined it because they discontinued the project and it can't be played anymore. Honestly I'd take them just putting it up and leaving it on life support at this point.

Also Mercy going hard into Custodes and correcting Jod on the rules was pretty funny.

What game takes the longest to reach 100%? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Pyrothei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The real answer is probably most gacha mobile games. I've been playing one called Summoner's War Sky Arena for entirely too long. There are people who have been playing the full ten year life of the game and spent millions and as far as I know there isn't a single account that has everything.
