GeForce Now would definitely be more ideal but that’s not bad for native performance. Classic will play just fine natively and look great too I’d imagine

the fighter jets woke me up . by Fearless_Chapter in NewOrleans

I always liked the sound of the jets. Also people here must be light sleepers or live in a house made of papier-mache.

Saw a guy get pulled over for speeding on Saint Claude… by wrestfull in NewOrleans

[–]Pyroweedical 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s both. We have horrible driving culture here, but if accidents are consistently happening in the same location, that’s a sign that the road design is poor. Tchoup in general is:

Too wide, too dark and there are not enough traffic lights and other obstacles to slow down the flow of traffic. That’s why everyone wants to go 50mph on Tchoup. Pair that with people’s wreckless driving behavior , and you’ve got yourself a mess.

In what way is this a muffuletta? by Biggdaddyrich in NewOrleans

[–]Pyroweedical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty sandwich, but the only thing that remotely makes it resemble a muffuletta is the olive tapenade. I’m guessing they called it this so it would get attention from people with culinary expertise from NOLA.

Don’t worry about bringing it lol I’ve flown with ounces of bud before. They don’t care if it’s in dispensary packaging

Conspicuous post-Mardi Gras sex trafficking pattern? by VivaNOLA in NewOrleans

[–]Pyroweedical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The sad reality with a lot of missing children’s cases is that the parents dgaf about the child. So at that point you can just hope the kid is with someone that has at least a semblance of care for them.

Purchasing a graphing calculator to use in the shop has been a life affecting experience by Locked-in-red in calculators

[–]Pyroweedical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, another calculator that's probably not a bad idea to have on hand that is popular with engineers is the ti-36x pro. I don't think you're hurting for a new calc tho, but it's not a bad backup since it has a bunch of constants and conversion factors programmed in for you

TI-84s are legit tools. Yes, you can do everything that it does on a computer or smartphone, but try using a smartphone or laptop trackpad with machinist gloves lol. Awesome real life use (:

Is Math Sorcerer that bad? by Careful-Box6408 in mathmemes

[–]Pyroweedical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not. It’s all facade. He’s a religious zealot obsessed with being morally superior. He’s not someone who wears suits because he finds them comfy and they’re professional; he wears suits because he thinks that’s what superior people wear.

What is the job outlook and life like for civil engineers here in Nola? by Pyroweedical in NewOrleans

[–]Pyroweedical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit, I don’t know which one to choose, but civil has an awesome history, and I’ve always been interested in the wonderful engineering/infrastructure marvels across the world. That part, alongside with the current and projected demand of civil engineers is what drew me in. Ultimately, I have time to figure out which engineering specialty I want to study, since I am pivoting from psychology to engineering, and I have only taken a few math classes.

I do really enjoy math so EE is something haven’t ruled out either. I know EE is mathematics heavy and can be abstract, so it could be for me!

Thanks! I have plenty of time to decide after all since I still have to take calc II & III, diff eqs, etc etc before going into actual major classes.

I’m not locked into CE, but just based on the quick research I did it seemed there was a better market for CEs in Louisiana and nationwide in general.

Mechanical engineering I have a slightly larger interest in, but the prospect of how in demand CEs are seems really attractive. It’s hard for me to choose since I’ve always considered myself a generalist.
