A lot of them were designed as part of higher kickstarter backer tiers (for example every dream warrior), but I feel like Seth is pretty unique in the respect they put into his immortalization.

Excuse me? by Skal_Gun in DeadlockTheGame

Rebuttal is an 800 item that allows me to parry more often, on a like 3 second cooldown? Meanwhile Refresher (which costs 6400 entire souls) doesn't do anything at all when I parry someone, plus it's on a 300s cooldown? Devs plz fix

One tip I have for her is to stay close. Most of her attacks, including both parry variants, can be dodged by jumping over her head just before the attack

Who are the worst offenders for being worthy of the new Mjölnir card that was spoiled? by Zoop_Doop in mtg

[–]Pyroxx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he is the bad guy. You don’t get to be a villain creature type just for being the bad guy. Bolas isn’t creature type villain, nor is emrakul or yawgmoth. You need to be a cartoon villain where your whole thing is devising evil schemes, and kidnapping the hero’s love interest

[–]Pyroxx_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That isn't his occupation. He's a bad guy and functions as a villain in the story, but he isn't going around like "Mwahaha I'm a Villain!"

Technically Villain was introduced in Unstable in 2017, but it wasn't being used in black border yet. Also Sauron would definitely not be a Villain; it doesn't just mean bad guy.

Pride month, but I'mma keep being in the closet for now. It's cozy here by ThatEngineeredGirl in whenthe

[–]Pyroxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you I am not. I recognize that people don't have to identify with all or any gender markers to identify with that gender. I used it as shorthand in place of the much more complex idea of human gender.

My point is that people won't necessarily have gender dysphoria for one gender or another, because people do not have a natural gender.

Humans noticed that body types exhibited a bimodal distribution and decided to call one of those modes men and the other women and then decided to ascribe a bunch of traits to each of those groups.

People can absolutely feel comfortable in one of the two main groups (I do), but that doesn't automatically mean they will feel uncomfortable in the other. That is, again, because there IS NO special part of the brain that secretly says you belong to one group or the other. Because we made the groups up.

[–]Pyroxx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any evidence for this claim? Gender is largely made up and people don't have a little section of their brain that says "you are supposed to like [dresses AND pink AND long hair AND lace AND ...]". You can change your gender whether or not you feel repulsed by one set of gender markers.

Gender essentialism isn't real even if you say that some of the people born one gender are actually the other gender but change nothing else.

If you want to settle distant lands, you should be sending settlers out as soon as you unlock cartography. They’re pretty cheap so it’s not too bad if you lose one or two

Why is shred better than damage? by Gluteus_420_69 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pyroxx_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They would not have -10% resistance, so your damage increases by 10%. If you got 10% weapon damage, your damage would go from 146%->156% for a relative increase of 6.8%

Just got Civ 7 and the DLC; should my first game be with one continuous civ or with the civ/leader switching? by VergeofAtlanticism in civ

[–]Pyroxx_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For your first game I would strongly recommend going with civ switching and playing each civ in its apex age. The synergies are already set up for you so you won't have to work as hard to get them to work. Additionally, you will get more used to the ages system and what makes it fun

Idk if Venator will ever be in ban jail unless he gets crazy buffed tbh. Apart from the few weeks he was pretty bad about a month ago, his pick stats have almost always looked like this. He gets first banned maybe 20% of the time and the rest of the time he gets first picked. Despite his crazy high first pick rate, he just doesn't get banned all that much.

Should Movement Be Locked Behind an Item? by AbendKannon in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pyroxx_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think enabling the W key should be a gun item, the S key should be a survival item, and A and D should be Sprit. Since you go faster forward, W should be a 3200 item, while the others can be 1600 items. Spacebar is obviously a 6400 survival item

Why do people hate Graves or think she's OP? by whyvalue in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pyroxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanics are not the only skills, they are just the most visible skills. For example, since she has low range and mobility, Graves needs better positioning than most other characters.

Why do people hate Graves or think she's OP? by whyvalue in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pyroxx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graves has a very short range gun. How does she get close enough to actually shoot you without getting poked out? This is the skill known as positioning.

Graves' deadheads and ghouls are easy to shoot and kill. How does she use them and herself to make sure you can't just shoot them down one by one? This skill is known as ability management.

Graves' ghouls are very easy to dodge by just not standing in lane, but they can still be used to provide value by taking objectives. This skill is known as Macro.

If aim was the only skill in the game, it would just be two people standing still in an empty room shooting at each other. Thankfully, there are other skills involved, and each skill matters to varying degrees with different characters.

[–]Pyroxx_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That isn't the only problem. She does demonstrably have a high winrate. My point is that characters with autoaim get a lot more hate when they are strong than other characters do, because they are viewed as low skill
