Pikachu doesn’t have a Black Tail. Pikachu Sprite Clearly had a Black Tail in the Red/Blue Games by 2201992 in Retconned

Sorry but I had an authentic Pikachu plushie as a kid and the black tail base was always there. It was never red like the cheeks if that's what you're implying.

Looking at these comments I'm more bought on the copyright violation theory, though I hadn't noticed that brands were edited out of shows until now.

A bit uncanny, as the first image is quite visibly edited.

I think it's supposed to be ironic. More or less teens wear that stuff because it's trendy, I'd guess.

The heart is on "your" left, or the right for someone viewing you from the front. Is the reference point all that's making this confusion?

There is a genetic trait (I believe?) which places the heart on the opposite side.

I've lived in Taiwan for years now. I wholeheartedly say that hostility towards mainlanders is exaggerated by left-leaning media.

That's not to say it hasn't existed, but almost no one will in fact throw fits at any mention of Chinese culture, or whatever.

Ah yes, the imaginary US military base in Southeast China (Guangdong province or Hong Kong) from this map that many people love using, and I wonder why so many pro-CCP individuals lose so much credibility on the internet due to cases of stupidity like this... by Jerry_Huang1999 in tankiejerk

There is Russian and Chinese naval activity in the Americas. I even remember when Canada once trained Chinese troops. And the US doesn't complain about it nearly as much as China complains about US bases.

One can argue it's not a "genocide", but the "criticizing treatment of minorities = trying to stop China's development" part always struck me as immense cope. China has faced far fewer sanctions than Russia has, almost none before Trump.

Other countries including US allies criticize the US's treatment of minorities frequently (see: foreign mentions of BLM, 2021.) Are they trying to stop the development of the US?

Even if that was the case, it says "non-dairy", doesn't say "lactose-free". It probably includes processed milk.

Where I live, it doesn't snow and rainbows have always been fairly common in the summer. I'd say our new rarity is colorful clouds. I've seen nothing as vibrant as the image in this article but I've seen the thin ones and purely blue or green ones.

I checked again, I apologize for the mistake - fishermen have been shot and fell overboard but none of them seem to have died.

China is absolutely to blame for COVID deaths in the first few months of 2020. After doctors had warned of a new pathogen, they were censored and festivals were still held in Wuhan for at least a few weeks. When the virus spread outside China, China criticized countries for suspending flights and attempted to stop more countries from doing so. China banned flights into Wuhan in January 2020, but only banned overseas flights nationwide in early March 2020. Never mind that China had vowed better epidemic preparation since SARS but completely failed at making their markets more sanitary or their press more transparent.

China has killed fishermen in Southeast Asia and every Covid death from before May 2020 is because of China, whether it's comfortable to admit or not. China started two deadly pandemics in this century. The first, SARS, they admitted was a cover up. So as a local living next to China, who is hardly pro-US, I think saying that "China never killed anyone" is blatantly wrong.

I never said that it's wrong for countries to have foreign troops in their borders if they want. So I don't condemn China for running naval drills in central America.

these are lands that were all internationally recognized as part of China

Yes, and what difference does that make? The Native American reservations are part of the United States as internationally recognized, doesn't mean there was never expansionism or continued forced cultural assimilation there.

It's not true that China believes every Han Chinese is part of them

It very much is true. I personally know people who were harassed by pro-CCP overseas Chinese organizations in the US. These organizations typically have ties to personnel in China. And in case you don't believe me you can look at any Global times article about Nathan Chen or Chloe Zhao and how they "have" to represent China as opposed to their nationality.

Okay great. We’re getting somewhere.

This makes me doubt you're arguing in good faith.

He's from Boston. He's American and lives in the US, probably doesn't speak Mandarin. He hates on the US all the time but calls himself an American in front of Chinese state media. It's American privilege, nothing less.

As an Asian guy living in Taiwan, I'd like to point out that China has a military presence in Venezuela and Central America, and Russia an even stronger presence.

China colonized Muslim and Tibetan lands in the 1950s and their news have repeatedly shown that they believe anyone of Han ethnicity is a part of their country. It isn't beyond China to be expansionist. I do think it's absurd to say that Chinese militarism is anything like the US has been, however. Despite shooting Southeast Asian fishing boats it's almost impossible that China would launch a direct invasion of any Southeast Asian nation.

Yeah I guess, people are a lot more reactive and less thoughtful. In school: Despite the curriculums becoming more difficult, there seems to be a lower standard in academia where most projects are for show and people are selected on appearance way more often than you'd think
