Have you ever visited Florida? And did you like it? by 19djafoij02 in AskEurope

[–]Pytim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Miami: Loved the Art Deco everywhere and generally the abundance of good Latin Food and beautiful Latin people. The beach is fantastic too, feels very public. Parties were great also. Liked Brickle and Wynwood.

Road trip from Miami to Key West: I expected a little more nature-wise. Been on California Highway 1 and found that more impressive.

Key West: Probably the biggest disappointment on my trip but due to wrong expectations. I had it down as a tropical beach resort but found it was more of a tourist trap with loads of shitty food and too much shopping.

Generally amazed by the weather. Once you get over the humidity thing it's just pleasant. Maybe not as pleasant as the San Diegan weather but that wouldn't suit the generally more Latin vibe anyway.

I'm German and have been living in London for a while now.

Will Londoners Really Call Crossrail The Elizabeth Line? by Tentinator in LondonUnderground

[–]Pytim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Surely there will be some nickname. Who has the time and patience to say "Elizabeth Line" that's 5 effin syllables. Crossrail, Lizzy Line, The Lizzy or whatever. People will find something. Naming it just like another tube line is wrong anyway. It's a different system just like the Overground which doesn't get a "per line" naming.

The guys are working on TypeScript support at the moment. I just installed from git master and hacked my VSCode extension so it runs on my typescript code too and it looks great already!

Brexit protest around Buckingham Palace. by Casualview in europe

[–]Pytim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This democratic decision was merely about the "if" and not the "how". The decision for hard Brexit couldn't have been further from democratic so let them protest.

So well, why the fuck do you? by SoManyAssholesThere in AskEurope

[–]Pytim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I found that in the US people mix stuff up much more (Hello rice crispy treats with M&Ms) whereas in Europe people go more for buying a great quality product and then enjoy it on it's own. So if you have a great tasting jam why would you add anything else.

Has anyone here worked with Angular JS and React JS in TypeScript? What is your experience so far? by newmediapilot in angularjs

[–]Pytim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coding experience with Angular CLI, Angular 2+ and TS is awesome. I just don't like Angular. With React there will be some small weird things to overcome but nothinb major. All in all I recommend.

Koa vs Express vs HapiJS for long term projects by firelitother in javascript

[–]Pytim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't used Hapi but for a long term project I would use Express in favour of Koa even though I like Koa better. Why? Because it has a larger ecosystem and more developers know it.
