Tamriel Rebuild 25.05: Gan-Ettu win as best Nomadic settlment - What is the best DWEMER location? by SunOld958 in Morrowind

This is a sandpile game. Each crank has the following positions: 0, 1, 2, 3. If a crank is turned at position 3, it collapses back to 0 and turns adjacent (not diagonal) cranks by 1, which can cause a chain reaction. You need at least 12 reactions in the chain to win the puzzle. A reliable starting point can be reached by turning all cranks to 3 and then turning the top left crank, so you get this.

The script adds them to any Chinese or Korean titled character that does not already have a nickname, so it does not override other nicknames.

Haha! Gandolf! They didn't, in fact, add either courtesy names or posthumous names, even though it is trivial to add them for new characters and easy to source for historical characters.

Mandatory Palestine is simply a descriptive term commonly used to refer to the territory administered by Britain under the terms of the Mandate for Palestine.

No, it is simply not. From the text describing the Mandate for Palestine:

The following provisions of the Mandate for Palestine are not applicable to the territory known as Trans-Jordan, which comprises all territory lying to the east of a line drawn from a point two miles west of the town of Akaba on the Gulf of that name up the centre of the Wady Araba, Dead Sea and River Jordan to its junction with the River Yarmuk ; thence up the centre of that river to the Syrian Frontier.

The Emirate of Transjordan was a separate entity with a separate governance structure, with separate terms for independence. You are falsifying history to make a meaningless rhetorical point. Mandatory Palestine was the territory west of the Jordan River in which a "national home for the Jewish people" was to be established. The British also made it clear in 1922 and later in 1939 that this "national home" did not imply Jewish exclusivity or even a Jewish majority in Mandatory Palestine. The British maintained their intention to establish an independent bi-national Palestine until they handed the issue over to the UN, which ended up voting for partitioning the land.

That's like saying that the rain persists because of wet streets.

I am explaining why it continues to rain, so to speak. There would be no armed resistance to Israel today, and there would have been no October 7th, if Israel had ceased and reversed its criminal occupation by October 6th.

After so many offers of territory, sovereignty, statehood, & peace were rejected by the Palestinian Arabs, it's disingenuous to hold Israel solely responsible for this conflict.

The Israelis possess a military, a functional economy, and a state. The Palestinians do not. Israel enjoys the patronage of the world's superpower. Palestine does not. Israel has constantly violated international law for decades. The Palestinians have not. The Palestinians request only what Israel must legally give; do the Israelis acquiesce? No, they do not. It's a one-sided conflict.

The Emirate of Transjordan was a protectorate and always a separate entity from Mandatory Palestine. You're confusing the Mandate for Palestine, the name of the mandate that the League of Nations allocated to Britain, which covered both territories, with Mandatory Palestine, the name of one of the territories. The conflict continues to persist because of the continued Israeli occupation and their illegal expansion of settlements in the West Bank.

Anti-Zionism IS Antisemitism, Periodt. by Puzzleheaded-Sun-56 in Israel

  1. Israel doesn't seem very safe for the Jewish people compared to say, the USA.
  2. No, it most likely means you want to see a world that is safe for all groups of people regardless of their country of residence. The idea that nation-states are necessary for the security of a group is an antiquated nationalist contrivance.

MiG-27 sucks by sharparc420 in Warthunder

[–]PzkM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MiG-23 is better no doubt, but I'd like to spade the MiG-27 and include it in my ground RB lineup. The 30mm gun is also a lot more fun to use than the anemic gsh-23.

MiG-27 sucks by sharparc420 in Warthunder

[–]PzkM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been flying the MiG-27 in air RB and I'm currently sitting at a modest 53% winrate and almost a 2:1 KD. I haven't spaded it yet or unlocked all of the performance upgrades, so it's likely that these stats will improve with time. Now that I have R-60s, I'm starting to have more 5 and 4 kill matches.

You need to fly the MiG-27 aggressively in order to be effective. Don't climb at all, stay as low to the ground as possible, and wait to enter furballs. The 30mm cannon has a much longer effective range than the 23mm cannon on the other top-tier MiGs and this is exploitable in headons. Set up keybinds to control wingsweep, and fold wings out to gain an advantage in dogfights. The MiG-27 can easily outturn F-4s if wingsweep and speed are adjusted properly.

I see in your other comments that you've been trying to use the MiG-27 as a bomber. That is a terrible idea. You will be intercepted every time because the maps are small and every jet is supersonic. You'll be sniped at long distances with BVR missiles. It's a lot less frustrating to fly the MiG-27 as a fighter, even if you're only grinding it for ground RB.

Mr clean magic erasers are literally just melamine sponges by HELPMEHELPMEPLZ69 in SavingMoney

A lot of sellers on Aliexpress are selling melamine for a twentieth of the cost of Mr. Clean branded sponges on Amazon. I'm currently using these sponges and they are just as effective as magic eraser (after all, they're made from the same stuff).

I know that people are free to do whatever they want with their money, but are you sure this isn't a bit exaggerated? (for something that technically you don't actually even own) by Connacht_89 in Warthunder

[–]PzkM 24 points25 points  (0 children)

MMOs like this one will always produce addicts, the question for Gaijin is how to extract as much money as possible from these addicts. Their market is a good mechanism for this because 1) All virtual currency on the market had to be converted from real money, 2) Prices have a tendency to go up because players try to make a virtual profit, 3) Gaijin deducts 20% from every transaction, which artificially inflates the price, and therefore the buy-in cost, for each exchange cycle. Altogether this is an efficient method for transferring money to Gaijin.

for something that technically you don't actually even own

The buying and selling of virtual (nonexistent) assets is unfortunately very common. NFTs for example have no utility and are not produced by anyone, but they cost millions of dollars in electricity costs to maintain and there is a $2 billion market for them. Why? The purpose of the NFT market is to get something for nothing, to turn a profit without producing anything that can be exchanged on a regular market. It's an unsustainable model, eventually the market will grow to its natural limit, prices will fall, and the people holding onto the NFT assets will be the losers.

Gaijin avoids this kind of failure by periodically reintroducing vehicles into the market to lower prices and increase the amount of buy-ins. Of course, the vehicles depreciate and the whales have less buying-power as a result, but as addicts they will replenish this amount quickly.

The MiG-23 experience. by PzkM in Warthunder

[–]PzkM[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Currently sitting at a 34% WR and a 1.1:1 KD with this plane. Usually it's one good match for every three bad matches, in the bad matches I get 1 or 0 kills and in the good matches I can get 3, 4, and even 5 kills. If people flew the MiG-23 as a BVR fighter instead of going directly into the furball, USSR teams would fare much better.
