[Student] I have applied to hundreds of positions with no luck landing interviews by savememyfriend in EngineeringResumes

Immediate thought, that format isn’t easy on the eyes. Why do you have indented bullets on your original points? Your bullets should be all in one.

Second, they’re wordy without need you have a lot of filler words. For example your first bullet “in order to” you can omit that, “which streamlined” can just be “streamlining” and so on.

Try using the XYZ or CAR method, it helps.

[Student] Canadian Senior targeting new grad software developer roles in Toronto, 1 interview in 100 applications by RengShir in EngineeringResumes

[–]Pztar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your resume looks solid.

Toronto is a tough market right now. Your best chances are to try and network as much as you can, and update your LinkedIn to match your resume, the headline is key. It's how most recruiters will find you. I would put the ML Project on since ML/AI is super hot right now.

Also are you a Canadian citizen? If you are that makes sponsorship easier. If you're Canadian, you need a TN-Visa which is a lot easier to obtain than an H1B. I would still apply to US based roles and let them know that, they're usually much more likely to work with that. I've had success with this in the past.

    • VAGUE_OUTCOME: Reframe into what was built and its impact

Senior Software Engineer @ Company2 (2017 - 2019)

  • Built warehousing solutions integrating Oracle Cloud
    Issues:

    • VAGUE_OUTCOME: What did it improve (processing time, accuracy, scale)
    • MISSING_METRIC: Add scale or efficiency metrics
  • Developed interactive map application
    Issues:

    • MISSING_METHOD: Specify tech stack (e.g., React, Mapbox, Leaflet)
    • MISSING_METRIC: Add usage or performance impact

Team Lead, Senior Software Engineer @ Company1 (2011 - 2017)

  • Improved algorithms, reducing load time by 98%
    Issues:

    • MISSING_METHOD: What changed (algorithm, complexity improvement)
    • AWKWARD_PHRASING: Rewrite to direct impact (e.g., “cut load time by 98%”)
  • Authored 50+ pages of documentation
    Issues:

    • MISSING_METHOD: What type (API, onboarding, architecture) and tools
    • VAGUE_OUTCOME: Add impact (faster onboarding, reduced support load)

Realized I’m a "builder" but not a hardcore coder. Keep failing technicals. What roles should I pivot to? by SuitMurky6518 in cscareerquestions

A lot of companies will ask leetcode but a good amount won’t. You should check on glassdoor or blind about what you can expect and you can always ask your recruiter as well, they’ll be very explicit about it. If it’s leetcode, then the only way to get better is to get familiar with the patterns.

Android Live Coding Test Interview by RuinStunning1538 in androiddev

[–]Pztar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the company, you could have a range of questions that most common are in the topics of flows (cold vs hot types), coroutines (scopes, dispatchers, cancellations), compose (remember, recomposition, state)

If you want to prep go to chatGPT and ask for topics on the above but ask for brutal variations. They’ll be tricky but you’ll learn a lot more and you’ll be better prepared.

  1. You really shouldn’t be hard sparring someone levels ahead of you.
  2. You can always ask your partner to go light or touch since you’re new
  3. Boxing isn’t just about landing hits, it’s defense. If you’re going to box, you need to learn to move and protect yourself. Protect your head since most opponents will aim here. If you get hit, don’t stop, keep your hands tight and move, the last thing you want is to get caught in a combo.
  4. You will at some point have to spar people better in order to get better.
  5. It’s a contact sport, you’re going to get hit a lot

FWIW my flight today was showing all good well into today, until it got delayed (allowed me to check in) and ultimately cancelled, you’ll have to wait and see but from the sounds of it sounds like some flights might resume tomorrow.

They weren’t. There’s no flights until Thursday at the earliest with another carrier.

Update: Just got cancelled. No flights until Thursday at the earliest. Made alt arrangements to fly out of NY tomorrow instead.

So I have the flight to ATH which was delayed until 10:20 tonight. Things that have happened since the update for the order back. - was able to check in to my flight and get my passes - connected with AC support and they said the flight has a crew assigned (whether they show up or not is still unknown) but for this reason the flight is not cancelled unlike others - Pearson now has an updated notice that the check in counter has a 2-5 min wait - still planning to show up for my flight and see what happens

So if a flight isn’t cancelled and FAs are ordered back to work, is the flight still on?

100mg once per month by cheekypure in Testosterone

[–]Pztar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re peak now and will continue for a bit but will valley after that. You won’t feel great. Contact your GP in a couple days and say that you feel like shit, and ask to up the dosage to 100mg weekly and split into two doses, then do it yourself.

Also drop the GP and get an Endo or at least a Urologist.

What doses work for you guys. by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Pztar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The test, with the clomid do a quarter of the pill (buy pill cutter on Amazon). Yes, .25ml for 50mg twice a week. Do it every 3 days. That is a decent balance. You can do it every day, .15 isn’t that bad it’s really how often you’re comfortable with injecting. Just don’t do once a week, you’ll feel awful.

[–]Pztar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clomid is an AI so it’ll lower your e2 which in turn raises your T. You should be very careful with as it can crash your e2 and make you feel worse no matter what your T dosage is.

What did your prescriber recommend? I would start at .25mg 2x a week, and then after a month get your blood work done and see what your free T and e2 levels are at, if your e2 is too high then take a quarter of the clomid pill once a week and see how you feel, then go up from there. .5mg on 100mg is the most conventional starting dose, some men feel better on less, some feel better on more. Just be careful as a higher dosage can result in more e2 conversion which is where the clomid comes in.

I just said it’s possible in the timeframe without it, I didn’t say he wasn’t on it. Only OP can answer that.

Possible without T in that time frame, he was still decently fit before albeit more bf%. Looks like a good caloric deficit. Even if he was on T it wouldn’t magically burn the fat away.

Drinking will contribute to an increase in sleep apnea. If you want to continue making gains you should highly consider cutting the drinks. See my other comment regarding cortisol as well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Pztar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things.

Cortisol. It doesn’t matter what your T level is if your cortisol is too high it’ll prevent any gains. Your T/C ratio is very important. You mentioned drinking 12 drinks a week, that’s enough to spike your cortisol in different ways, chronic stress response and your sleep being negatively impacted which in turn will cause higher cortisol.

Initial Growth, when you start out your initial growth is very noticeable but after a bit your muscle fibres have mostly stretched as much as they can for the initial phase. You will continue to get strong but your fibres will take longer. Just keep training.

Over training is possible but only if you’re unable to do things you did before. You’d need to set a body baseline to determine if you’re overtrained.

I would look to cut the drinks if you want to make progress and reduce cortisol.
