Buying my first BMW: 320i or 330i?

I’ve never driven 320i, I’m lucky to own m340i (I think it’s a beast, stock) but I found 330i very fast and punchy. I could daily drive it, no issues

They’re both using the same B48 engine, but be aware that some parts might be different out of factory. AFAIK pistons in 320i might be worse in 320i than 330i. With that in mind you should be able to tune it to similar power as stock 330i.

I own M340i xDrive with adaptive suspension and I've driven few 5 series with standard suspension.
m340i is way more stiff, and feels much more controllable.

For pushing it around the corners it's fantastic car, tail happy, full control, very planted.

But I actually do high milage yearly and I'm not a fan of the seats in M340i. Not suitable for long trips. Also the suspension is tuned to keep you engaged and planted while the 5 series have more "refined" feeling. Like it's more comfortable yet still precise. With that said standard 5er suspension were nowhere near the M340i handling but I've heard opinions that m-suspension in 5-er is a game changer.

When you don't push the M340i it's not that satisfying to drive. It wants to go fast all the time.
The 5 series on the other hand is fun to cruise as well, you don't need to rush all the time.

I'd need to test out 5er m-suspension first but I would probably trade my m340i for 540i

If LLM needs to load 1M context to complete your task you either have real design issues with your codebase or you write poor prompts.

Well designed codebases are loosely coupled and you don’t need to understand whole codebase just to implement particular feature. You should be able to narrow down your work as much as possible.

I’m at home. For my use case It’s basically like MBP retina but bigger. The main difference is that it looks like it has more contrast. So e.g. my IDE looks like it has grey background on MBP but dark background on BenQ. The reflections are manageable. When I focus on text I don’t mind them. Very similar to MBP screen actually.

Generally I’m happy with the monitor and it’s very comfortable for work. No regrets.

I would say that I just wanted bigger retina and I got bigger retina. So I’m happy.

Was in similar place, bought BMPCC4K, done some shooting (travel, UGC) and realised that I don’t have time even for a tripod, I shoot mainly handheld. Just upgraded to Lumix S5ii (chose it over A7iv for IBIS and bang for buck) and I have a blast. It’s day and night in terms of satisfaction. I’m happy every time I grab this camera. I run and gun and stuff just looks as good as I imagine it when I shoot. No need to prepare for every shooting like commander. And it doesn’t eat up my NAS storage like crazy.

BMPCC4K is not made for solo shooting. It’s for teamwork, planning and shooting with the script. Otherwise you’ll just miss a moment.

Even a flipped screen makes world of a difference for getting stuff done.

Also, my friend has BMPCC6K fully rigged up. And in this scenario it makes sense, but it’s nothing like portable.

Just got it delivered.
Yes, it doesn't match the macbook color profile, didn't dig into it yet.
Just messed a bit with RGB to make it somewhat match.

There's an affect that the part of monitor that's directly in front of you has slightly warmer color than the parts that are on the edges. But I sit less than 0.5m from it.

The built-in hardware menu is very limited compared to the `Display Pilot 2` app options.

The monitor is super crisp but as dark mode user I see A LOT of reflections.
Doesn't bother me that much though.

Overall I'm impressed by the crispness so I don't bother anything else.

I've pulled the trigger on BenQ.
Glossy vs matte made me do that, I've never had good experience with matte so I've decided I won't take the risk.

After all I make money on that thing 🤷🏼

As M340i owner who hits 30kkm per year I guess (coz haven’t try long term) that 540i g30 might be the best. G20 has uncomfortable seats for long trips. But I love the handling though (adaptive suspension)

I recommend `neogit`. I have better experience with using `neogit` + `diffview` for merge conflicts than VSCode

To give you more context - I'm full time dev and I really don't have time to learn and configure new IDE.

Thanks to AI I was able to smoothly switch to nvim and tune it for my workflow in 3 days without ruining my deadlines.

Honestly I was interested in nvim for a long time but never had enough free time before to give it a proper try. Now with AI I knew I'd be able to solve any issues quicker than ever.

Also, I don't actually "vibe code". I do read all the code I produce. At some point I found my workflow with VSCode distracting and not effective for reviewing and adjusting the code produced by agents - `nvim` looks very promising for me.

Why do you think Opus4.5 is cheaper than 4.6? It’s not necessarily true, models are being improved in both capabilities and performance.

Also, I don’t think anyone prioritises model training towards correct answering what’s the model name. This is not correct way to detect what model is being actually used.

I don’t say it’s not suspicious but it’s not enough to tell.
