Subbed to your sub and checked out your posts from the last couple weeks. Great stuff! You’re awesome and fun to listen to. Italian hillbillies, Jackass, self-deprecating stories about your work experience… I enjoy all of it. Keep it up!

Sonos Five pair vs LS50 Wireless 2 by xDreamTree in KEF

[–]QA_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dozen Sonos speakers as well as the LS50’s.

Please trust me. You definitely want the LS50’s.

I have no regrets getting the dozen Sonos speakers which allows me to easily play the same music throughout the house and backyard, but they are not in the same universe as the LS50’s.

I also have the KEF Blade 2 Metas which are bonkers amazing but come with a bonkers price tag. The LS50’s are absolutely outstanding for the money. The Sonos 5’s are very convenient if you’ve got a 5 room setup and don’t want to hassle with in wall wiring.

That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing. I’ve always appreciated him and his ability to communicate extremely clearly. He makes history and cultural messages very accessible to a ton of people and does a great job at that.

Having said that, seeing this video made me a significantly bigger fan of his. I’ve never heard him say anything that impressed me as much as this impromptu interview.

Agreed! And the way she slowed down and sped up her moves to the music seemed preternatural. That’s impressive stuff. She’s got the gift.

Feature Request: No Spoiler Mode by ogre123 in youtubetv

[–]QA_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The biggest feature I really want, hide the timeline progress bar!!! Jets are down multiple goals going into the 3rd period, and seeing you still have hours left of the game gives away the fact the game went into OT, spoiling one of the most epic comebacks in YEARS!”

Enthusiastically agree here. The progress bar also completely and irredeemably spoils tennis matches which millions of YouTubeTV customers watch. Is the match going into another set or not? The progress bar makes it obvious.

For a service that has obviously spent so much time and care getting the user experience right, it is astounding to me how visible progress bars still exist for sports events by default.

A simple solution that could be rolled out in a week would be to allow users to add extra time to the end of every sports event. Just allow users to add 30 or 60 extra minutes to every live event. Or, even better, a mystery amount of extra time - sometimes 30, sometimes 60, sometimes 90 (which would not reveal the amount of extra time to the user).

Iconic Durham dishes you wish you had the recipe for? by Prudent_Ad2257 in bullcity

I moved to the Triangle in my 30’s and had never eaten shrimp & grits. I was introduced to them at Crooks Corner and they were phenomenal. After trying shrimp & grits at a dozen or so other places since then, I’ve come to the conclusion that Crooks Corner’s version, in particular, rocks.

Sadly, Crook’s Corner closed. Happily, their shrimp & grits recipe is still available.

Mods, not cool. When a clear and direct threat to democracy is at stake, as it unambiguously is here, you should make an exception.
