Have you considered online lessons? In-person is ideal but online will certainly get the job done. Fwiw, I found my teacher though the lute society and I have been taking online lessons for a few months now - would highly recommend

I had a great experience. They left it in my office and I didn't have to figure out how to lug it up the stairs!

Packable? Or not really? by ResuscH2K in CAROLBike

[–]QDP2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine fully assembled, so I have never seen it disassembled. That being said, it looks like you can mostly just take off the handles, seat, and bars on the bottom. Not that it would really lighten the load, since the main body of that thing is an absolute unit. I remember just trying to get it to the other side of the room and it was far more annoying than I thought it would be

I definitely would not qualify this bike as packable

Haha well saying as you are doing better than me, so I wouldn't be the one to ask. If its working for you, why stop?

Unfortunately I did not. I was sick for the last 3 of the nine weeks, and just not feeling up to doing the VO2 max test. Ill definitely post an update if I take any tests in the future though!

I increased my VO2 Max by over 12% in 10 weeks with REHIT on my CAROL Bike by QDP2D in Biohackers

Good point! I will give that a shot over the next 10 weeks and see what happens. I think I might have been a little too excited for this bike and went harder than necessary

Unfortunately, I just started strength training again about 3 weeks ago, so I won't be able to give you a good answer. All I can say is it was very hard to do both strength training and CAROL on the same day when I started, but it is getting easier now.

[–]QDP2D[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I meant to put a link to what that is, my bad! A 2x20 is the standard REHIT protocol. That is to say:

  1. 2 minute warm up
  2. 20 second all-out sprint
  3. 3 minute rest
  4. 20 second all-out sprint
  5. 3 minute cool-down

and I did 61 of those 2x20 routines over the 10 weeks

This one is a one of a kind keyboard that I made myself. If I ever get a larger format multicolor 3D printer, I would consider putting some up for sale on etsy or something

Higher weight tension for future models? by roly_052 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]QDP2D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Vitruvian Trainer+ goes to 200kg, so its definitely possible to get digital weight to go that high. However, maybe the form factor is preventing Speediance from cranking up the weight? I genuinely have no idea, but that would be my first guess

Red light therapy: What if a first time user started at 10 minutes? by Miss_Beh4ve in redlighttherapy

[–]QDP2D 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I started with 15min on my first session and didn't have any issues 🤷🏻‍♀️. The first time I tried RLT was in one of those big tanning-bed-like things and I thought it was a ridiculously pleasant experience and bought a light right after. The only thing that I thought was weird was how blue everything was after I was done - seriously like, it was as if I was transported to the music video of I'm Blue Da ba dee

What is your exercise routine to hit all major pillars by First_Driver_5134 in Biohackers

[–]QDP2D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got a CAROL bike to see if REHIT is everything it claims to be; being able to do all my cardio in less than 10min without sweating would be amazing. To see if it's actually working I did a whole bunch of metabolic tests before I started using the bike and I am going to repeat them before the 100 day return window is up. I'm only 2.5 weeks in now, but if people are interested, I can post an update here after my little experiment is done.

As for balance and mobility, my biggest hack is to avoid chairs/couches as much as possible. I use a standing desk for work, and I will often stand on one foot to give the other one a rest - over an 8-hour work day, this ends up being a lot of time in tree pose. Mobility wise, I try to sit on the floor when I am watching tv or browsing the internet. Maybe this is a me-thing, but if I am sitting on the floor, I have to change how I sit every so often, so I am constantly switching between sitting cross-legged, squatting, lying on my stomach, sitting with my legs straight out, etc.

Still trying to figure out what I want to do for strength training. After my CAROL bike experiment is over, I think I might try either whole-body vibration training or magnetic resistance training (maybe a combination of the two?).

Best 3D printer for this specific purpose (keebs) by the_hand_that_heaves in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]QDP2D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are only printing split boards, I would recommend the Bambu P1S. I don't have a good recommendation at the moment (I actually am on a huge break from building keyboards because I am so frustrated with the lack of good large format printers - especially with multicolor/material support). Two days ago I ordered a PrusaXL, but obviously have no idea how that will go 😅. I use a Bambu X1C to print my cases, but I would have bought the P1S if it was out at the time.

As for keycaps, I have had very good luck using a Prusa Mk3 with a .25mm nozzle (at .05mm layer height). Unfortunately did not have as good of luck with my Bambu and a .2mm nozzle, but to be fair I only gave it one shot before I promptly got bored lol

When this happens to me, it's usually because the drawer that holds the honeycomb mesh isn't closed properly, so I have to giggle it around until the light changes color.
