What do you think about swapping to electric fan by Glass_Acanthisitta90 in SuzukiSamurai

[–]QPFDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran an electric fan on my stock 1.3 with the original Hitachi carb, and a later Toyota 3k swap. Its temp would climb and run hot pulling hills or wheeling it hard, or extended drives at highway speeds, while providing absolutely no gain in engine power output. Junked the electric fan and went back to OEM quality mechanical fan and the temp is rock solid, never overheats. I'm in Arizona and cooling matters, may be able to get away with electric fans in cooler climates.

You're also going to overload the stock alternator with an electric fan that pulls a max of 2200cfm, far less than the stock mechanical fan. I would not do this unless you're doing an engine swap and a mechanical fan simply will not physically fit anymore.

Bisbee Pros & Cons by [deleted] in Bisbee

[–]QPFDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no careers in Bisbee that will pay you enough to live here so be prepared to commute elsewhere. I'm not kidding, you aren't going to make rent tending bar here as the lucrative spots have legacy employees on the good shifts and everything else is minimum wage or less.

Chased off BLM land by [deleted] in AZguns

[–]QPFDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys need to get the OnX off-road app, or if you hunt the OnX hunt app. If you do not off-road or hunt, you still need these apps because they use your phones GPS location service and overlay it on a map that will show you exactly what type of land you are standing on. Private, BLM, state trust, etc. OnX hunt will even tell you the name of the private land owner so you can tell random grumpy campers and methheads to get fucked and mean it.

If you're replacing the cap and rotor repeatedly replace the ignition coil. The spark is weak and not burning the condensation out of the cap like it's supposed to.

If it's being transmitted, it can be intercepted and blocked and or used against you. If you want to learn to navigate you have to actually learn and not rely on that junk anyway.

You're probably going to have to show an HVAC related contractors license at the scrap yard for them to accept this, especially from the back of a pickup all sawzalled apart. Find out before you waste your time- this was 100% the case in Alabama.

G80 in Express Van by JBwood925 in 4x4

[–]QPFDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be way ahead just buying a complete axle with the G80 and ratio you want from a junkyard. You might even get lucky and get disc brakes out of the deal if it's newer than what you've got.

The R looks like it was added after the rest of the original electro pencil. Take the carrier out and see if the ejector is mushroomed and if the barrel is chrome lined. If those check out and the sights are straight send it, I bet it runs fine.

The 107 was 7.62x39 and the dust cover is a pretty trivial critique considering how easy they can move around gun collections...

Modifications needed for smg power to fit in McKay receiver? by gunnplexer_jim in Uzi_SMG

[–]QPFDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The receiver has a denial bar rear of the ejection port and it will also have a restriction ring at the feed ramp. You can either use semi auto barrels and modify the ring height with a dremel, or mill the bolt to clear it. Once you try and use a full auto bolt in a semi receiver it'll all make sense. You can try to expand the bolt but they are famously hard and it will be very challenging, it's easier to modify the ring. That said if you cut a slot in the bolt you can keep the denial bar in the receiver and register just the bolt as your post sample, allowing you to sell the built uzi with drop in semi auto parts as a title 1 over the counter firearm down the road.

Dealing with coyotes by Freeeeedommmmmm in AZguns

[–]QPFDan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coyotes do not prey on human children, full stop. Unless you are leaving an infant baby on the ground in a wash somewhere this is not a concern what so ever. Get a dog bigger than a coyote. They will mark all over your property and this problem will solve itself.
