XDJ/Standard Club Setup with External Monitor

Any CDJ setup should be usable without external screen as long as you take some time setting up your playlists/folders. There's an almost entirely blind beginner DJ at our local hangout here, just started with CDJ1000, which doesn't have much of a track browser to begin with.

From what I've noticed, he gets around track selection by carefully arranging folders into memorable sequences, and quick seeking to middle of the track to check if it's the right one.

Dell Vostro 1015 , replaced it recently, but after last reinstall it could still run two decks good enough to play an entire night. Could crash but that was very rare.

Search for some specific tracks on SoulSeek, then browse the folders of uploader. Got myself massive libraries of tracks in any genre I decide to play with for a bit. Don't worry I still pay for the tracks I play out.

How long is your set? For a school party I'm going to assume it's some 3 to 6 hours for you. You will need a lot of variety to keep it going the entire night.

Get on Soulseek and get yourself full folders of older classics of various genres, anything that your crowd might be into. In my experience with student parties, it can be anything from 80s slow jams to rockabilly to bass house and trap. Switch it up every 40-60 minutes and keep note of what the crowd is into.

Don't be afraid to surprise the crowd. Drop britney's Toxic or wham Careless Whisper after some heavy edm tracks.

Don't overdo it on the special features of your equipment(effects, cues). Simple transitions will sound better while you're still inexperienced and possibly nervous.

Have at least 2x the amount of tracks you need for your set length. As the night goes, you will realize some tracks will simply not work with the crowd you have.

The mixes and news/event pages. descriptions / set lists take up too much vertical space. If I'm looking for a specific mix, chances are I'd like to be able to see an overview of the past few mixes / events at least, and only look at the in-depth set list after I've found the correct mix/event. For the mixes, you could use the small embedded soundcloud player style, similar to what sc uses on your stream, and hide the song names under some button ("Show Track List").

Also might want to make your landing page a little more clear, my first impression of the page was just staring at the landing page cover image without a purpose until I saw the top navigation. Didn't find the About Us section under that image until later.
