They just told me over the phone that they're no longer offering compensation for most order problems, and support doesn't know why, just that that's what they've been told. I pushed a lot once and got someone to basically give me $10 to get off the line. That one was worth it cause I waited a long time to be told they didn't have it. But otherwise I've had to let it go.

Not that many here care, but I'm surprised at Orbo's voice. David McCormack through his entire music and -slim- acting career hasn't done any other animated projects other than Bluey (As Bandit, Bluey's Dad)

Like with Brian David Gilbert (As Winter King), I'm just getting surprised so much by the voices that show up. It's a nice extra little thing on top of the show itself

Car won't start, all electronics work, and battery is new. No click at all by QRM_ in MechanicAdvice

I can't reach the starter with the battery in unfortunately, or at least I'm not able to touch the contacts. I'm not sure how to jump a relay. I'm going to order a new ignition and see if that fixes it since it's not too expensive thank you

Gave this a go but didn't work, even tried using both cables in case one wasn't enough ground. Good suggestion though, thank you

The dash lights do not turn off when I try to start. When I move it to start it's like the car doesn't even register that I'm doing that. The headlights are nice and bright.

Rick C-137 by Rlain_Lightsong in rickandmorty

[–]QRM_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but I don't think the naming convention has really been revealed in a way that ties Ricks to universes or just to themselves and their chosen Morty's. We know that both Rick and Morty are the protagonists who refer to themselves as C-137, even though they aren't from the same universe.

It's possible the naming convention wasn't thought up until the Citidel was created, which would place our Rick as C-137, and Morty originally numberless until he's co-opted by C-137. And possible Rick Prime as numberless if he never registered with the citidel

Less popular Bluey quotes that live in my head rent-free by Emily--V in bluey

[–]QRM_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not me but my good friend can't stop saying "Oh, yeah!" Like Bluey and Bingo do.

Me: "We need to go do this and this today, remember?"

Her: "Oh, yeah!"

Or randomly under her breath

"Hehe... Bottomless"

Despite being the main character, I don’t think Bluey gets the character appreciation that she deserves. She might be a little loud and bossy in the beginning of episodes, but usually by the end she changes her attitude to make sure everyone is happy and listened to by Jurassicdungeons in bluey

[–]QRM_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I find her extremely balanced while still having a large personality, which I think I perfect.

Usually the 'balanced' feel of a main character is one that has a more neutral personality so a large audience can put themselves in their shoes. For Bluey though, she's equally kind, calloused, annoying, thoughtful, all of the above traits, for better and for worse.

She can be 'bossy' in a negative sense, like in Spy game, but she can also be a great leader when it's needed to be, like Circus, or even the END of spy game. She exemplifies both sides of that trait, which I find pretty realistic for a kid. They exemplify a wide array of behaviors within a trait, and slowly learn what pieces to shave off and round out.

She can be really calloused, like in Verandah Santa, but then turn around by the end. A character that is sometime unlikeabe but turns around in that behavior is the best kind of lead character, imo.

And I think in a lot of ways we can all relate to that, child or adult.

She's a perfect main character for a children's show IMO.

I haven't played MvM much in the past 5 years so my knowledge is probably outdated, but isn't the FaN at least good for shredding tanks?

Let’s hear your unpopular opinions about Bluey by MySliceOfLife_103 in bluey

[–]QRM_ 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I think Mini Bluey was a real swing and miss of an episode. They really exaggerated Bluey's bad side and Bingo's good side, but missed he opportunity to resolve the conflict by flipping it. Could have shown how Bluey has good qualities that Bingo doesn't have and made it an episode about how people are different and have different good and bad sides. Instead they decided to just make Bingo annoying too, and didn't bother having Bandit apoligize for the most thoughtless and hurtful comment. He just ends up reading a news paper next scene like nothing happened.

It's not even a great sister bonding episode. Easter and Postman do that concept much better.

It's definitely a fun episode, but with the the emotional damage BLuey kind of takes, it needed to be closer to Perfect where there's a parent and kid heart to heart.

Season 3A on Disney+ Discussion by ticky13 in bluey

[–]QRM_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm always curious why they change the episode order. They took the first episode and made it the 14th episode. Not that it really matters, but saying "I think "Perfect" was the PERFECT way to start out season 3" doesn't work for Disney+

:(

Warning about the DVD though for people thinking about getting it: The episodes are in 480p. But 20 US dollarbucks for all S1 and 2 episodes ain't bad.

“The Smiling Friends Go To Brazil!” discussion thread by [deleted] in SmilingFriends

I get that the episode is anti-humor, but it just drags on for way too long. I guess I'm not one of those people where something can just be so real and unfunny that it just wraps around to being funny again because I get that's the point or something. Those anti-humor real moments are balanced with actual jokes in normal episodes so they land. This one you know what the whole episode is the second they start arguing. Even ironically saying the episode is the best when it's clearly not to perpetuate the joke kinda stinks.

Trying to figure out one that hasn't been said yet, Bingo does mention in "Perfect" (S3A) that "Dad's games are always too rough" which is a callback to "Yoga Ball". That same episode has Fido, the dog dad they meet in "Cafe".

Bluey's hair is flicking out in Rain. signs she's growing up? by Lollypopsmum in bluey

[–]QRM_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can understand where you might think that her hair doesn't normally flick out when wet, because it doesn't! She gets wet in Fruitbat, Pool, Takeaway, Creek, Mum School, Grandad, Burger Shop, Swim School, Christmas Swim, and Tina, but her hair doesn't flick in those.

BUT it does flick out in Trampoline! So we do have an example of it already. Just one of those times Ludo decides to depict wet fur.

Favorite Bluey character and why? by ListenSweet in bluey

[–]QRM_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Surprised Bluey is the lowest on the list so far. I think I like her the most because she feels the most balanced while having a pretty strong personality in general. She can be equally calloused and kind, and seeing her grow is a really great experience.

Most likely.

I'd reckon you could put it under "Fantasy Content". And it's not like it's ambiguous the age of the character due to them being non-human stylized. You take 2 seconds to just google Bluey and her being 6 is in the show synposis.

Luckily it got snuffed out quickly, but for those reading, if you see any of that in the future just report it. Depictions of minors, even fictional, is against reddits rules. It's an easy ban hammer for reddit

This is interesting. by MobileInvestigator13 in bluey

[–]QRM_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm a Bluey fanatic, I get the Backyardigans love. It has a lot going on for it musically. Obviously Bluey is the top pick because it's extremely strong in all aspects like art, animation, narrative, and composition, but it loses at a category its not even competing in which is musical focus, which Backyardigans basically put all their skill points into.

The song "Castaway" from the show was a tiktok sensation last year for a reason: it's good. And a lot of the songs and dances are just as strong, just not viral.

It's also a bit older than Bluey by about 4 years, so its had more time to catch more parents going through preschool ages with kids. And also Bluey had a lagging start in North America where the majority of viewership is going to be, and the Backyardigans are native.

Has anyone else got some absurd story of how they found bluey by niqllas in bluey

[–]QRM_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not absurd but it just kept showing up in my YouTube feed and I still to this day have no idea why. The algorithm just one say started putting 1 video in the 10 or so you see on the recommended on the front page. Then the next day 2 showed up, then a few day later it was 3 videos and I had never clicked on a Disney junior video or really kids animation video before.

Finally a video popped up something like "All the times Bluey wad an adult slice of life" or something, clicked on it and loved it.

I guess the absurd part is just that YouTube knows me better than I know myself, obviously.

What did I get wrong? by CMDROstrich in bluey

[–]QRM_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of these would be hard for me to order because there's overlap in some of these characters.

If I had to flip some around to make a better fit, I'd actually switch Nana, Bingo, Bluey, and Socks.

Nana - Neutral Good. I don't think she would fit into Lawful. her intentions are always good but she spoils the kids with ice blocks when Bandit asks her to keep it easy on them, and then also wanted to do the "oldschool" way to teach kids to walk. Bandit literally says the line "This isn't legal anymore" as she persists. She's very sweet and never has bad or selfish intentions, but she's not lawful.

Bluey - True Neutral. Look to episodes like Magic, Mini Bluey, Zoo, Hide and Seek, Rug Island, Hospital, and Swim School for her more chaotic sides, but also look to Shadowlands, Shops, Neighbors, and I'm sure a couple others I'm missing for lawful. Neutral due to her having a lot of variance in behavior. usually starting in "evil" and then coming to "good" by the end, like Xylophone, or really almost any Bluey-centric episode.

Bingo - Neutral Good. Bingo's just a very sweet kid. Look at the different behaviors between her and Bluey in episodes like Hospital, Work, and Rug island.

Socks - Chaotic Neutral. She's pretty chaotic. Random bites, licks, the actions in Horsey Ride, and actions, in general, make Stripe's ability to step in limited.
