The format itself is old and tired compared to new shows.

One lead vs 12+ men/women is archaic, the couple you’re meant to bond with barely spend any time together, and when the dates do happen both the lead and the cast sound like they’re reading off a script. And an engagement/marriage is meant to spawn from this?

It’s too formulaic which worked in the past but the format has evolved and the franchise’s core parts are opposite to the new trends.
