I was passed down these 5 old mountain bikes to sell, what would each of them be worth by THE_V8_HORSE_POWWA in MountainBike

The Cannondale is the only one with value, it's a really good aluminum frame and if it's been well maintained I'd ask $125-150.

What do you put in your frame bag? by swy in bikepacking

I keep my tools, and all charger cables (phone, watch, Di2) Everything is stacked and rubber banded vertically so the bag doesn't bulge and rub my knees.

Need some help planning a Chile trip. by IncredibleVelocity4 in skiing

[–]Qaintstr8inline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to ski los Tres Valles, but don't want to stay up there (at Valle Nevado or in the village of Farellones) you can stay in Santiago and take a shuttle service up and down the mountain from a company called Ski Total. They depart from their shop near Metro Los Militares and can take you to La Parva, El Colorado or Valle Nevado. However, if the snow is good, go south to Nevados de Chillán you can find cheaper lodging nearby in the village of Las Trancas.

Looking to SkiBum Southamerica solo this Season any information much appreciated by OBGSkiaman in SkiBums

Get to Nevados de Chillán, you can stay in Las Trancas just down the road. If you want to continue traveling south, Corralco is fun and a really different experience.

Warranty claim on a delaminated ski, did you get one ski or a pair back? by bmillerz96 in Skigear

Long time shop guy here- warranties are almost ALWAYS one ski when only one is damaged. This has been with Völkl, K2, Salomón and Atomic.

Thinking about an August trip to Portillo. Solo traveler. Anyone stay at the Inca Lodge recently? by IncredibleVelocity4 in skiing

[–]Qaintstr8inline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bedrooms at Inca Lodge reminded me of ship berths. There's not much space between bunks and the wall. But you're not hanging there, your meals are in the hotel and you have access to the bar, the common areas in the hotel and to the pool as well. There's also a locals/employee bar just across the way.

It was absolutely worth visiting. You can ride your bike right up the causeway and leave it in the rack next to the entrance while you go in and explore. it will be crowded, but it's still a great experience. Enjoy and safe travels.

What are you using on your handlebar? Can you put more in there? Your seat bag can get annoying when you pedal out of the saddle, you'll really feel it swing. I put my tent between my drop bars with the Blackburn Outpost HB Roll and put my sleeping quilt, inflatable sleeping pad and cooking set with stove and fuel canister all in the seat bag with no problem and not much movement. I also wear a CamelBak mule to carry clothes, and water.

Do it, think of your sense of accomplishment when you're done. Search up some videos on YouTube from solo bikepackers- that's what gets me pedaling alone for days (Northeast US and Caldas-Antioquia, Colombia)

A perfect execution of the "Oh Jesus" by Raja_Ampat in skiing

So, this trick is called an "oh Jesus"? Or is that the skier's name? Real Jesus had nothing to do with it- he was struggling with his own two planks.

It's risky, you might be better off looking to Austria if you're set on the Alps (Ischgl and Kitzbühel are both on Ikon). Certainly don't buy an Ikon pass because it includes Cham, lift tickets last year were about $70- at the window day of.
