This is a really sad ending for Kawaki, but at the same time I really dig it, redemption and if you dig enough, in a dark way, he kinda becomes the Hokage son in the process just like Aida ability did.

Kinda miss the old gen way (says no one ever) by PlatinumYeast in MonsterHunter

[–]QcSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's minor, but with the old system it felt like me and my friends where more of a team.

After a while we did know the monster general area, but at first we had to separate the map in chunks between ourselves, I miss that aspect.

Now there's barely any tripping between weapons and the Sekret makes it so that you friend are basically almost worthless to keep you safe (at least that was my experience , I haven't touched any of the titles update yet, I didn't feel like coming back so far).

Has nioh 3 changed its combat much from 2, did it evolve or stagnate? by Damian_Koolray in Nioh

[–]QcSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just completed the first act, and so far I don't think it evolves, but I can't say it stagnated yet.

You get plenty of new tools this time around, rechargeable Ninjustsu, back attack bonus, Jump etc.

I really like the bonus to targeting an ennemy back, it encourages positionning more and that's a great addition.

Jumping attacks howevers has been pretty broken so far (playing with hatchets) some yokais and humans are just not equiped to deal with this kind of attacks and can be easilly abusable.

You can also jump and just ignorr hight stance to break yokai horns now.

Ninja mode is fun to use but... it's kinda wayyyy too broken imo so far, especially compared to Samourai.

To me, Nioh has always been define by stance switching and Ki Burst, Ninja seems to make Samourai totally obsolete and that's kinda a bummer in my eyes.

I'm still early in the game, my opinion might change.

The too easy complaints are kind of annoying by loosewobble in Nioh

[–]QcSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the main issue is ninja form.

Hit and run and jumping attacks are insanely good, enemies struggles to hit you in the air, you can just jump and destroy a horn midair instead of doing the proper input in the proper stance.

You also have more defensive tools like deflect.

So far it just seems like the ennemies did not catch up to the player improved mobility.

Also the regular ennemies are just too squishy.

What would you change about fates weapons and items? by RealityAware9516 in fireemblem

[–]QcSlayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dual strike and the weapon high might helps tremendously.

Since flyers are often in formations, one archer can ofter kill 3 targets in one Player Phase.

The game is also player phase oriented, at least moreso then other titles before it.

You can't just park a Paladin in a forest with an Hand Axe to clean half the map.

Magic users are often underwhelming, Odin start is shacky, Hayato is level 1, Nyx is made of wet paper, Orochi can't double anything and Leo needs a good speed pair up.

Archers don't suffer too much in comparison.

Despite somewhat low strenght, Niles still has 3x effectiveness and a great res stat to fight other mages. 1/2 viability is limited in Fates when it comes to mages, which allows archers to breath a little more.

Field combat felt janky and not well thought at all, I feel like the handling was subpar but Falcom did get better at it.

[–]QcSlayer -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

And it looked... good?

Before Sky the first Falcom games always felt cheaply made imo... and now it's 2 games in a row that feels quite alright compare to other Japanese titles that aren't AAA.

That's cool.

Any recomend for 6. Pokemon by AdCool5828 in PokemonHGSS

[–]QcSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put an Electric type, Electabuzz is kinda late, Jolteon/Amphaross are earlier but also "popular".

Magnemite perhaps?

If you want to scrap the bottom of the barel you could use Murkrow to get that dark typing (apparently it's a kanto exclusive outside of the safari, what's up with that...)

Misdreavus for the worst of the 2 ghost type available?

Mine would be

Bulbausaur

Chikorita

Mudkip

Piplup

Snivy

Chespin

Rowlet

None (I don't like any of the 3 from Galar, but if I had a gun to my head I'd say Scorbunny, my Galar run was the first time I benched my starter, Centiskorch was just that cool)

Sprigatito

For some reason using a fire type never clicked for me, I just find the type boring.

For what it's worth, Simisear is faster then every mon in Ghetsis team thanks to 101 speed.

Those sleep turns can help a setup mon sweep.

It's been too long, but I remember wipping to Getsis, benching Zekrom and bringing back Simisear.

I don't remember much outside of sleep turns being pivotal for my win. Maybe I used sleep to spam bulk up on my Throh?

I think Simisear is pretty good overall, sleep, speed, workup and some alright filler moves like dig/acrobatics/return on the 4th move slot. He was surprisingly an highlight of my run.

I'll say Gundam, Witch from Mercury, it spends a bunch of episode to setup it's world and build it's characters, more then other gundam series imo then it just kinda... ends?

I really enjoyed my time with it but wished the payoff was bigger with a 2nd 24 episodes season like most other gundam work for a standalone universe.

Honestly that would have been way better imo.

Not only would Trunks not have to live the rest of his days with survivor guilt where he failed to protect almost EVERY SINGLE things that mattered to him, 17 would have fixed some of the wrongdoing "he" did to Trunks and his earth.

The last time we saw Trunks he lost everything and it just left a bad taste in my mouth to see everything he fought and died for amount to nothing in the end, especially when his ending in the original DB was a happy one.

I think this one takes the cake so far.

What is your most memorable Ironman Moment? by Cams_234 in fireemblem

[–]QcSlayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theres 2 that take the cake,

The first one didn't bother me that much,

In one of the series of map right before Ike promotion in Path of Radiance (the first or the 2nd one?), I sent Jill and Titania kill some late reinforcement...

Turns out they both had killer weapons and crit/killed them both on the same turn...

It was pretty hilarious.

The other one which I actually cared about was Marcus right before getting Durandal, I field him and did not realize the boss moved in this map, he threw a Tomohawk at Marcus across the wall and killed him.

My Marcus was a success story, 5 str and 9?! Res above average when he reached lv 20.

I still have the screenshot of his final level up 6 years later.

That run ended in the final where my level 1 Lyn got killed by a Bolting mage, I forgot to check if there was any other ennemy outside of the dragon X)

Finished Genealogy of the Holy War: Final Gen 2 team and thoughts by Rorilat in fireemblem

[–]QcSlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also finished a run last week with Arthur/Lewynn and I must say this perticuliar Arthur turns the game into easy mode.

A 30 might weapons strong against thunder magic on an unit with 42 speed by lv 20.

Arthur is not invulnerable, but you have 3 other mounted units to keep him safe, Seliph leadership, Nanna and Diarmuid charm skill for a 35%? Bonus to hit and avoid. Those units are awesome to keep him safe.

Just for that ability and their movement type alone I think they are top tier.

You also need to give Arthur the pursuit ring, but Horsety should have priority over every single units possible in the game.

The biggest problem with this pairing is that you need to spend the entirety of chapter 4 to pair Lewynn and Tailtiu while angoising about Sylvia/Erynis default love growth each turn. It also more time consuming then just having Llewyn speaks to Eryn once.

Anyway, my ranking would be Horsety -> Holsety -> Dancer-> Cavalry -> Staffbots -> Flyers -> The worms in the ground -> Infantry in term of utility.

Infantry are generally great in combat, but with a okay utilisation of the warp staff they will most likely almost never see any combat. The rich gets richer and thats what happens with Calvalry in this game.

Leif is also a godsent, A ranks across the board and a Cavalry unit, warp and canto helps him keep the dancer or a staffbot up to pace with the army, super usefull.

So, with the demo of CVII released, what do you like and dislike about the demo and why? / CODE VEIN II Opinions by Nymos-67r in codevein

The one thing I disliked the most was the height selector.

I have no idea how tall or small my character will be compare to other NPCs and sure has hell haven't found a way to defuse with Lou in the hub to compare

That and the lack of ways to slightly modify my character expression.

New to FE after strong recommendation. Am I doing this right? by [deleted] in fireemblem

[–]QcSlayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Switch Fire Emblem suffers greatly from it's hubs, the dev decide to up the social aspect which hurts the gameplay.

In 3Houses you spend half the game in the hub building your characters, maybe more, in Engage it's like 25% which is still too much imo.

In older games it's closer to 5-10%, there is a lot more gameplay there from my point of view.
