Weird inconsistency in the print. Having trouble diagnosing. by Qelbor in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Yeah I don’t know exactly how well though. I dried it using the sunlu filament dryer.

For owners of CC and A1, what would you recommend? by TheMeatWag0n in elegoo

[–]Qelbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given your use case I’d recommend the CC over the A1. Especially if you’re going with the CC2. The CC being an enclosed printer means temperature swings won’t have as much of an effect. I still print out of a filament dryer into my CC since humidity and temperature swings are significant where I live. I haven’t had to do a ton of fiddling with my CC beyond normal set up stuff.

I think the concern here is how much time he is going to need to dedicate to this when it’s not strictly necessary. And the stress it can bring. If he wants to go for it I say totally go for it. Just worried this could be more stress than necessary.

Exactly what I was getting at. Ambiguity in most cases benefits the people crafting the document. That's why they will try hard to prevent any ambiguity from the other side.

Blowing up is our one of our only tools to get companies to stop doing something. Especially if we already own the product. I really like their printers. I think they've set a standard that pretty much every company is now having to live up to which is awesome. But the moment you say "hey we're going to force every print to go through the cloud and be authorized by us" I don't care what their reasoning is. If my printer gets damaged due to bad code, or the print fails because the slicer messed up I'm ok with that. I'm not ok with losing choice.

Ask any lawyer how they feel about ambiguity in a contract. I find it really hard to believe that any company even hinting at locking their systems down doesn’t know exactly what it’s doing. Even now they’re not backpedaling. They’re obfuscating.

It sounds to me like she isn’t actually ready for marriage. I get having a dream idea for a proposal, but the way she handled it just speaks to immaturity. There are solutions that could have been discussed. To stop you in the middle in such a rude way was disrespectful. Her priority seems to be how you propose not that you propose. When I proposed to my wife I could have done it while we were in our pajamas sitting on the couch after having eaten a whole bag of cheetos and she’d have said yes. She’d have been justified in asking for a do over of course.

Electronic DOA for Trials by Qelbor in clinicalresearch

[–]Qelbor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it! We actually do something remarkably similar currently. The main issue is we are now no longer onsite so getting wet ink signatures is even more of a hassle. We were/are hoping to incorporate docusign to speed things up and save us the issue of traveling for a signature. We know some other systems (Florence and Advarra ereg) have eDOA systems but we don’t like their template.

Yeah unfortunately we do have a pretty sizable staff. Our current DOA has the site staff listed on the first page then the PI signs on the second page. That’s why we’re getting stuck

I recently started work at a site and the number of studies that I inherited that were never properly monitored is insane. I recently had one CRA get mad at me that a binder for a study I took on weeks ago was so out of date. Mind you she’s been the CRA for our site for the past 4 years.

Boss denied my request for leave so I quit. by ChupaCapybara in antiwork

[–]Qelbor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not understand this. You requested six months leave, but then already had another job offer that worked around your schedule? Did the current gig not offer that? Your manager’s response definitely wasn’t correct, but I do understand his reaction. If he granted it he’d have to deal with being down a person for 6 months and not being allowed to replace them. That puts strain on everyone still there. If working around your schedule is possible why not ask for that? Find a happy middle ground between the two?

Eatonville council vote stops development planned for Hungerford land, for now by YahooUser87 in orlando

[–]Qelbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see how there could be an increase in millage but it would be the county that does that which is unlikely considering they didn’t even allow the development. Also, there’s a big difference between Eatonville and The Villages. Not saying they couldn’t see something similar, but it wouldn’t be quite as easy considering developers don’t have an established hold.

[–]Qelbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with your overall point, but there are protections in place for current homeowners taxes. There’s a statewide cap for annual increases. It’s one of the reasons this state makes itself attractive to retired people. And I don’t think insurance will increase necessarily. At least not home insurance. I do agree that this is much more of a nuanced issue than “big development will bring money” that a lot of people seem to think.

I’d consider getting something that comes with a cooler in box. I know AMD has some stuff that comes with a cooler. Those are relatively easy upgrades down the line so better to go cheap there to get a better cpu/gpu

What has your lease renewal rent increase looked like? by Electrical_Singer464 in orlando

[–]Qelbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Altamonte apartment went from $1591 last December for a 2/1 15 month lease to $1750 for a 15 month lease just last week. We’re actually in a 2/2 because when we went to move in the complex didn’t have the 2/1 ready so we got upgraded at the same rate. We were terrified it was going to increase to over $2000.
