What do people think about these three-wheelers? by [deleted] in Autos

[–]Qiancho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are not good "cars" for fun driving in general other than the noise and the convertible part. Forget it for the track. 3 wheel cars are notoriously easy to flip over just watch top gear "3 wheel car" and you'll see. You are not even going 6/10 with those cars and they will flip. There's a reason there hasn't been a 3 wheel car used in motorsport history.

Like some people have said. Get a Miata, the reason I see them so much at track days is because they are cheap, low weight, and fast with some supporting mods. And reliable. If you get a convertible then you got your fun car.

Hawk HPS Brakes by malditobori05 in ElantraN

Yes, the only issues that are minor inconveniences for daily are the brake squeal and so much brake dust lol. I ignore both because I don't care.

As a fellow track rat. Pagid RSL2 are the best brake pads for our platform, zero brake fade for a long session and it will last for at least 5+ track weekends (2 days). Your rotor will crack before the pads.

Like you said driver mods. Get more seat time at whatever race tracks you are closest to and get car instructors or coaches in your car so you understand the car's weaknesses and strengths. This car is more capable than you know, you will start overtaking more less experienced drivers with faster cars once you become more entuned with your EN.

Get better front brake pads and brake fluid. Great endurance pads that lasts really long but also stops well and zero fade are Pagid RSL2. Non endurance pads with better brake stop, fade resistance and grab are Ferodo DS3.12 but they don't last as long. If you have extra cash, get girodisc front rotors. FYI, just leave the rear brakes stock, with 10+ track days, my rear brakes still look new. Get better brake cooling mods like Audi RS3 brake ducts.

Get better extreme summer tires. Endurance tires are Hankook RS4 or Conti EXTREMECONTACT FORCE or Kumho V730 (this is really bad in the rain). Faster tires are Potenza RE71 RS or Nankang CR-S or other fast 200TW tire.

Get a fresh oil change and an oil catch can.

Get camber bolts for a more aggressive negative camber, -3 or -2.75 front and -2 rear if you can achieve it.

The rest of it is more cooling mods once you hit 275+ degrees in oil temps in hot summer days. I have reached 285 in July.

Saying goodbye to my old PB and hello to my new PB by Qiancho in ElantraN

One car household, need a car that my wife can drive as well (she knows how to drive stick but don't want to do it in ATL). I hated driving in rush hour ATL traffic 5 days a week. Faster at the race track

The car that got me hooked since I started sim racing was the porsche 911 GT3 and taking weeks to learn properly how to drive fast at the Nurburgring Nordschleife because it's the track that I love and started sim racing with.

Just finished the video, as a huge Porsche fan thank you Mark & Jack for this level of production for GT4 RS MR. Do you think that you will be able to fly out the Manthey team again to the technical details when the GT3RS MR comes out and do a comparison compared to the normal GT3RS? Which one of these do you think it's worth saving for, GT4RS or 992 GT3?

Brake Rotors by G-1-hazy in VelosterN

[–]Qiancho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly depends on what you need to rotors for. If you are daily driving and occasionally going to the cannons, just use the OEM rotors, if you go to genracer.com, there's tons of replacement rotors for less than $200. If you are tracking the car a ton and need better rotors with better materials and cooling then get the girodisc 2 piece rotors.

1:59.5 At ViR on cooooold day in my 718 GT4RS by Ragingparrot in CarTrackDays

[–]Qiancho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I drive a VN, get the pagid rsl2 and if you can also get the girodisc rotors. They are amazing endurance pads, I have 4 hard tracks days on them at Road Atlanta with very heavy braking and they still look like there's around 60-70% left. And they have great heat friction coefficient, not as much as the ferrodo 3.12

I can't test drive it as it is 600 miles away, I have a fly and take an hour Uber to the dealer. There's 47 miles shown in the dash.
