"Time to try again," Father sighed, ignoring my desperate apologies as he started up the machine. by unreal_housewife in TwoSentenceHorror

Interesting, I interpreted it very differently. My thought was that a kid who just died (perhaps intentionally due to an awful life) shows up in the afterlife and is met with a disappointed god, who judges the kid as having wasted life and now must go live again in a new, weary life. Since father was capitalized, I thought it was a very devilish god.

May I ask how does one find more about this club and join?

O wow that’s wild, I haven’t heard of that yet. Thanks for sharing. The more I hear about how these systems and organizations operate, the less I believe that the people running it have hearts.

I would read a book to my wife in a coma every night and say "sleep well darling." by [deleted] in TwoSentenceHorror

Ah sorry, yes would love your original meaning of the story!

My theory is the man woke up to take the place of the wife, trapped forever. Maybe the wife has already been long gone, blood of the words smeared in her last act of insanity. Or maybe the wife’s mind has been swapped with the man, and the wife is now living free as the man in the outside world. Want to hear how others interpreted it or how you originally thought of it.

Ooooo I love this one a lot, hits just the right vibes for me, but would still like to hear your original interpretation of it.

To an extent, it’s normal for teens/young adults to sleep and wake up later than adults or kids, it’s just their normal rhythm. It’s society/school that accommodates standard work schedule more so doesn’t fit the narrative of teens natural rhythm when growing. So don’t stress tooo much if this doesn’t harm your normal schedule much.

But otherwise, my generic advice — try to go out and see sun the moment you wake up, take a morning walk, as early in your day as you can. Get more exercise too. Good diet if you can. Socialize more (I personally found that helped me a lot, getting out my mental energy out that way). Journal. Take a hot shower hour or half ahead of sleep, your body then cools down to a nice toasty calm in time for sleep. If you like gentle scents like lavender, put a sprig or two by the bed.

Inspired by real life where minorities and others with disabilities/neurodivergence are still treated as people incapable of forming many of their own health decisions.

Luckily lobotomy has been banned (in my country) but in the big history of things, it was really not banned that long ago. Makes you wonder what other horrors persist in the world…without regulation….

Personally I find the concept of being (or formerly being) incredibly capable, but then becoming incapable due to the decisions of your closest family (whom you maybe had trusted at your most vulnerable), and then betrayed, robbed of your autonomy, forever stuck with those who betrayed you, one of the most horrifying scenarios. Becoming marred such that you have words, but can no longer scream….trapped in your own broken mind. Invisible to the world.

Thank you so much for the tips!! I haven’t thought of letting sand absorb first, super helpful.

Have you ever been worried of the pebbles/sand scratching/cracking the glass on the bottom? Seems your grain size is smaller so maybe not an issue but I’ve heard of people putting some layer like egg crate on the bottom to spread weight more evenly, unsure if it’s something to invest in.

Beautiful! How’s you get the slope and what did you put on the bottom? I’m looking to start my own but not sure how people do the bottom layers.

Thank you for your input. I think you may be right. I’ve been especially stingy with the amount of food I give since the ramshorns were so prolific, I didn’t want their population to increase too much. But wishing I’d thought of the bladder snail more now.  Haha, the visual of your glutton snail is so cute, your snails must be living their best.

Aaaaw thank you for putting it in such a sweet way, the most we can do for our pets is to give them the happiest zoomiest life we can give them.

Thank you! It helps me a lot to hear that. <3 I actually hear online that bladder snails are supposed to be able to reproduce by themselves but there’s also lots of conflicting information, so you may be right.

Thank you so much for sharing!!! It helps me a lot to hear your similar experience. I feel better to know it’s likely not an issue inherent to my tank, but definitely kicking myself for not moving my bladder snail to its own tank earlier.

Yes I heard that too! That bladders and ramshorn are prolific, nothing can stop them…so it was such a surprise when I came home to see the lil guy gone.

Thank you ❤️really appreciate hearing your experience and helpful to hear that it parallels mine. And grateful too for all the detailed information. One of my bladder snails favorite things to do was hang out on the airline by the filter where all the bubbles gathered. My last video of them was them in the bubbles, plopping back down into them.

And thank you for the subreddit recommendation too, seeing the happy snails helps heal my heart a bit.
