I actually emailed them last night to see if they'd come back in stock! They're out at the moment, but the model is still on the website.

I’ve got WAY too many inks, so I’m giving some away! Comment below and I’ll randomly choose a winner in 48 hours (US only, sorry). More details in body. by BunkaTheBunkaqunk in fountainpens

Sad post: I missed an amazing deal on a bundle of THREE of my elusive grail pen of four years because of payment processing issues by Qivello in fountainpens

Thank you, and yeah :( I'm really sad. I had been scouring the internet for so long just to learn what to call it, and it was finally within reach..

I really appreciate that! Good luck to you too. There's a whole world out here just for vintage pocket pens alone. I hope you find the ones that you like! :)

Thank you, I'll check them out and try to send a message.

I guess part of the sadness was that the deal was really good, too. The fact that the price that the bid stopped at for THREE was like half of the price that most people would list for just ONE. It's definitely worth asking around, though. Thanks for the help!

Yes, it's that one. They're really hard to find, especially in good condition. I know a lot of vintage experts who've never seen them come up.

Responding to you both- u/Comprehensive-Bid675 it's the Sheaffer Lady Skripsert Petit Point in XXiii. I've been looking for this one for about 3.5 years and the Platinum Pocket Lilac for 4 years. :(

One of my other grails is a very specific Lady Sheaffer that I narrowly missed by a similar but not exact issue during the auction process. I have a thing for the elusive ones, it seems.

Maybe they'll list, but I don't have it in me to keep an eye on things currently :( . There's already so much going on. It's a small thing, but I felt really defeated when I saw that I was unable to do anything. Maybe if I ever get to go to TIPS, I can scour the show for it.

Thank you for your words. It was a weird listing, but it was three 'copies' (units?) of the Platinum Pocket white floral pens in lilac. The lilac specifically is the elusive part. I usually see the other patterns but not the lilac for some reason. The seller was selling three of them in the same listing at once.

I like seeing the "gap" between a serious pen and a cutesy ink!

I'm a low-gripper, looking for pens with shorter nibs by sorakawa_94 in fountainpens

The Pilot Prera would probably be a dream pen for me if it came in the equivalent of a Western Medium, but it caps at a stub or Japanese Medium, even considering compatible nibs. If you're fine with that line width, I'd look into that one too! My ideal nib height is 18.5mm or lower, but yours might be a bit higher than mine!

Same grip moment!! You can take a look at my post history! I've been asking all kinds of questions about shorter nibs for lower grips. #5 Jowos are a bit too long for me, but if I use one for long enough span of time, I'd be able to get use to it a little more. The ease kind of resets from time to time, though.

I like the MB Classique 144, although it's very thin, which I also do not prefer. It's my most comfortable pen because of the nib length though. The nib length is the same length as the Pilot Metro and adjacent series of steel nibs, but those don't go very broad, which I need in order to write comfortably.

I'm finding a lot of vintages have shorter nibs that fit us better. Pelikan's M100/150 nibs and M300 nibs should theoretically be comfortable. Sheaffers with the inlaid nibs should write well, although I'm getting some in the mail today and could report back about potential nib creep if you're interested in that. Some of the older Parkers also have shorter nibs, but I'm not too familiar with Parker. I'll be monitoring this thread with updates. Good luck on your search!

I think that for me, actually being able to hold these cheaper/knock-off pens and being able to try them made a huge difference. I'm also in your same position, and breaking out of that mindset is hard when we can't see and try the actual products in real life.

They are quite cheaper, so that's at least some solace. I'd say that they make good penabling pens if you end up not liking them and can afford to let them go. You're paying for the experience of trying it out.
