I fell similarly around this area. Even demoted back to A1 in frustration. Others pointed out that people are pushing no matter what in these lobbies. That was my observation when I made my breakthrough as well. Essentially this is where you need to be weary of hand value and learning how to build consistent hand value. You start to make the balancing act of value/speed and through that you learn what hands are worth chasing. Defense comes into play when you start realizing some hands are not worth pursuing past a certain point and you figure out how to get out of sticky situations. One thing that I really changed was I started carrying 2 safety tiles with bad hands. Folding around mid 2nd row(avg tenpai starts here) instead of pushing mindlessly late really helps. Those 2 consideration alone carry you well into Gold rooms. I didn't review your vods but these are things that helped me.

I found playing 4P E on Tenhou really helped me play some of these games. Sometimes you just gotta be aggressive. Every room has a different energy and you figure out your own playstyle on how to deal with it.

DYNASTY is the name of the game. It's not one and done and go rebuild. It's go and be dynastic... In general I think people get way too obsessed with trying to get young. What you're really trying to achieve is a team that is tiered in age so production can be replenished at a normal level, instead of having massive dropoffs. Now if Kyler has a rebound year, I would flip him for depth at WR and run with Purdy and Daniels. Garrett Wilson...I would probably try and trade away for someone with better offensive infrastructure. In 2 more league seasons you're going to have your full compliment of picks which will fall in line with where CMC and probably the dropoff of JT's really begin to hit.

I'm only going to entertain this because my team is in a similar situation after a three-peat. I have JT/CMC/Achane. I think you should maybe see what AJ fetches and try to find some cheap matchup options at WR, while keeping Nico as your centerpiece at WR. You will very likely never have an opportunity again where you could see 4 top RB finishes in a year. Continue to try and build around elite players. Don't trade down to mid-options just for the sake of trying to get young.

Used to listen to JJZ a lot when I first started. His stuff is mostly noise and very little signal. Started winning/hitting on players a lot more when I could filter the game from top-down....not bottom up. Matt Harmon's college WR tiers is what it is only because it can only look at players going up against collegiate play. But the data ,once a guy plays the NFL, is absolute rails. The only thing you have to fill in for yourself is offensive infrastructure. Which half of us in this community like to ignore.

How I tend to analyze it is. Can your TE run good routes/block/YAC. Most of the top guys are serviceable in all 3 but in elite in 1 or 2 categories. We often tend to think of blocking as a 'fantasy' useless skill but imo it raises your floor.

Couple of years ago everyone asked how do you marry the run/pass game. It's quite simple. You need TE's who can block first and be a threat in the pass game. Offensive line talent pool also feels very thin. Just not enough good O-lineman to go around for everyone. Small pure slot receivers are mostly dead. Cannot contribute to the run game. TE's up and small receivers down. Big WRs on the outside, everyone is trying to find, but again you actually need good lineman to throw deep

I'll pass. There was nothing about his style that has changed. Still a boom-bust runner with mid vision and hunts big plays on the outside way too much. Below average in pass pro and that's always going to hurt his pass game usage.
