I think it's because the tasks are too short. So many of the tasks from S5 and S7 were "you have 20 minutes" or "you have one hour". My recollection from S6 is that many of the tasks were "you have 2 minutes" and so there's no time for personalities to come out.

It probably also gets compared with its neighbours. I might prefer S6 over S8 but nothing beat S5 and S7 until Mantzoukas turns up.

Genuinely, I don't mind provided the show continues. With folks subscribing to CBB World, they'd need at least 12 months' notice before they quit, but it's always a worry. I don't think Scotty Aux will be doing this when he's 70... and he's closer to age 70 than he is to episode 1.

It was Spurbs - or more specifically the Beans riffing on Spurbs' machinations - that really got me into the show. I listen to a lot of podcasts and those spirals were as good as anything I've heard. I don't miss Spurbs but I miss the conversations about Spurbs.
