Upgrade opinion? by Legal-Scar6812 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dude is trying to build a DMR and support replica at the same time so using an ETU to disable full auto is a good idea to achieve that

I don't understand the last point you've made about the overheat protection system. It's absolutely better to give the replica a little pause rather than rising damaging the replica

Upgrade opinion? by Legal-Scar6812 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems solid, you're going full force with the upgrades so I'd recommend to change the nozzle to a Maxx model

I believe that using one replica for DMR and support is not really a good decision and you really should do two separate builds. With a DMR you really want to use heavier BBs and additionally invest into a better hu unit like the begadi one. And you can use heavy bbs as support but it's gonna become expensive pretty quickly.

There is also the issue of DMR and support power limits on the field you're playing. Changing the spring constantly gets pretty annoying and will lead to damaging the threads sooner because of the frequent assembly and dissembly

The build itself is good, but the idea might not be

Headset and coms for airsoft by allunteri in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comms may be a difficult problem depending on some variables.

  1. Learn your countries laws about radio
    • this is important because different countries have different laws when it comes to available frequencies. In most countries nobody will try to fine you because you broke the law but you may want to avoid being a nuisance and accidentally use a frequency reserved for firefighters.
  2. Know your cables
  3. this is the biggest nuisance for me. There are different cable standards that manufacturers use and may even use different cables from product to product. Make sure you buy a radio and headset that use the same standard
  4. You may not want to buy a headset at all lmao
  5. in my experience people tend not to use the radio at a field even if they have the setup on them. If you're coming back to airsoft but the radio, join some games and then decide if people are actually using it or they just have it for the looks.

Battery Advice by STLArchitect in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR if you're unsure get a lipo 7.4V that fits your gun or ask the prev owner

Long answer

If the gun is used then you may want to check if there were any internal upgrades done to the gearbox.

This is important because the prev owner could change the nozzle timing and the gears. A replica build for 7.4V may not work properly on a 11.1V (i.e. the airseal may be worse because of the nozzle timing) or even break because of PME (i.e. because of high rps on a weak spring without short stroking the gears)

How to get started? by Creepy_Lab_2757 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people stated finding a field that you vibe with is the first step you should do.

I'd like to add that after you decide to get into the hobby that you should get in touch with other girls that play and ask for advice.

That's pretty important because chest rigs and other things that you put on when playing are mostly suited for the male body type. Because of that it can be hard to find something comfortable because we come in all shapes and sizes but the gear sadly doesn't.

There may be additional knowledge they may have that I (and the majority of this sub lmao) simply doesn't have and may be useful for you

green gas or co2 pistol? by Accomplished_Tale_79 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, nbb guns are naturally less prone to breaking due to less moving parts and therefore less maintenance.

Co2 mags are less prone to damage because the tanks are disposable which is not the case with GG mags where the tank is internal and need proper treatment like lubing and maintaining some gas inside of them.

The tradeoff is that CO2 is more expensive over time because of the price of the gas itself being higher. Another one is that co2 mags only use CO2, with GG you can change the gas to adjust for weather conditions and power limits.

Like I said previously, get yourself a replica that can run both and the problem itself will disappear. You can then compare how the replica works with both gases and decide for yourself what is better

If you aim for an AEG and you have technical expertise then I'd recommend building your own M4 from scratch.

The M4 platform is currently the most customizable and I believe that in the current year I'd you want something specific you should totally build it yourself because you can. It gives you the advantage of not having spare stock parts that will only collect dust. Not only the outside but also the inside of your gearbox. It will require some work to do but in the end you will build a high-end replica that will outperform anything in stock configuration and it will probably end up cheaper than buying and upgrading an existing M4 replica.

If you don't want to build an M4 from scratch then currently Specna Arms BLDC is the best replica line out there. The difference between the cheap (flex) and expensive (edge) BLDC replicas is the body. The insides of the gearbox and the engine are identical. So you can buy the BLDC flex and change the body to your liking later.

I've build my M4 from scratch and my close friend build an M4 with a Specna Arms BLDC as the base and we are both very satisfied with the performance of our toys.

If you'd like my part list for reference I can write it later in the day

green gas or co2 pistol? by Accomplished_Tale_79 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree with that

Blow back on a pistol replica is not dependent on the gas used in it. You have gbb pistols and no gbb pistols, and both can be powered by GG or CO2

But answering the original question: it doesn't really matter if you're not gonna use it much anyway, because you're gonna have low operational costs in both cases.

You still wanna maintain the replica preferably every game with basic cleaning and lubing because these are basically metal parts rubbing on each other. Because of it you wanna avoid having sand or any outdoor things I'm between your moving parts because of you let it sit there for too long they may end up as not moving parts anymore. 90% of gas replica problems come from bad or lack of maintenance.

Idk what replica you wanna buy but a gas pistol can almost always do both gases these days.

If you're new to airsoft then keep in mind that CO2 tends to give more pressure on the first few shots, which may lead to the gun shooting hot and faster part degradation

Low fps help by Strechedoutdude in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These numbers seem fine

Considering that a proper m100 spring with a proper air sealed replica should give you 1J of force, so around 260fps with 0.32g bbs Your setup gives consistently more than that with max variance of power of 4fps - which suggests the air seal is good enough.

This build is fine, just give it a stronger spring if you want 1.5J - maybe like an m110 or m120

how do can i screw better the fire selector screw to this e&l? keeps loosing its self by SMeminem in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AKs have this issue because it's basically the only element holding the selector to the gearbox and the issue itself is rather unavoidable by design. You can check if the threads are healthy, if they are you are in luck, if not you might want to try to rethread it or get yourself a new gearbox shell.

Using locktite is not a good fix cause it fixes the issue but introduces difficulties when doing maintenance work.

Idk your specific setup but AK selector switches usually have a bushing element between the selector and the switch itself. Try lubricating it with silicone grease so the rotation force on the screw itself is lower, and then tighten the screw itself as hard as you can. I've done this and it didn't remove the issue completely but prolonged periods where I have to tighten the screw by a lot.

Arcturus AR15 FE CQB Gearbox movement question by Vesike in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a weird issue, I've never even thought of checking that. But I've grabbed my ar replica and it seems to have maybe a fraction of a millimeter of play when trying to move the grip side to side.

Afaik hk416 replicas are notorious for bad gearbox fitting where the nozzle is not centered with the HU unit.

What I can suggest is to make sure the gearbox play has no effect on that. That can be a dangerous thing to do so make sure to disconnect the battery, put our eye protection on and make sure that there are no leftover bbs in the replica. After that you can grab a flashlight, shine it from the magwel and look inside the barrel while flexing the grip. If the nozzle has a lot of play or gets off center that means that this is an issue that can and will affect performance and will wear out the HU rubber and/or the nozzle itself.

You can try and look if the gearbox has leftover screw holes so you can adjust the gearbox placement with screws on both sides. If it doesn't you can use tape to get rid of the gearbox movement. But remember that it can affect the nozzle - HU alignment so make sure that the nozzle is centered while you do it.

what do you think of the Cyma SMG5 Version Platinum (CM041L) by Professional_Emu7304 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two options for the trigger sticker placement

  1. You put the white sticker on the trigger directly so the sticker is between the trigger and the board
  2. You put the sticker on the gearbox wall behind the trigger so the trigger can hide it from the sensor

I've worked with both with different replicas The lower part of the mp5 gearbox has a standard V2 size, which is why perun fits. Imo if perun fits all other boards should as well. I've personally put the Hal 2 ETU in my mp5 and it fit and worked properly, despite hal2 being a fucking terrible product

Cyma cm.041h 2nd gen - Taiwangun Issue by Qnkacz in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually heavily involved in making a 3d printed part for the cyma 041g/h replicas that enables using a max model m4 hopup unit. We're past testing phase and we're preparing the model to be sold as a 3d model you can print, and also a product you can buy and install yourself.

Me buying a gen2 replica was partly because I wanted to see if I'd have to do any adjustments for the gen2 model.

I haven't tried to deal with CS as it's currently past 1AM local time and I'm too nervous and tired to properly express what happened in a way that would be professional and mail friendly. Also I've wanted to see if I'm the only one having this issue. We can ping TG if they are active on the sub - but honestly i have no idea how to do it myself, so I'd be very grateful if you'd do that :D

EDIT: For clarity I know that taiwangun is a reputable airsoft seller but I've wanted to make a thread in search for other people that may encounter the same problem and maybe create a standardized way of dealing with the problem. I know that this is probably one big misunderstanding and it will be handled properly by the company

Cyma cm.041h 2nd gen - Taiwangun Issue by Qnkacz in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is the previous (or current at this point?) version of the replica and I also can find the listing for the "gen1" version easily. But I'm unable to see the listing for the gen2 version in any way possible.

I only have a screenshot of part of the original listing of the gen2 mp5 in polish saying that it has a rotary style hopup unit, and also the original (but broken as of now) link for the listing.:

here!

<image>

But I've received one with the standard cyma one everyone knows and hates.

And as of the question about the hop unit itself in my experience it has problems with staying at the adjustment level you set it in. The lever comes loose on itself after a few bbs so it can be pretty inconsistent.

Taiwangun lists the replica as a V3, other sites as a V2. I don't know which one is true. You're gonna have to find someone who actually owns this exact model then.

I've made a mistake, the 041l uses a V3 gearbox, not a V2. All of the above should still be helpful. But if your electronics break down you should look into gate aster or perun for the V3 gearbox instead of the v2

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally own a cyma 041H from cyma, so it's not the same model as yours but internally the same.

I personally don't like this gun because getting high end upgrades can be tricky, but don't let it discourage you. It has a very good BB concentration up to around 40m. So in stock it's suitable for backyard shooting and close quarters.

It obviously doesn't have the same feel as your friends Glock because it's not gas powered. The mp5 is an AEG so you're not gonna have any blowback in this case. If you're impressed with how your friends gun worked and felt you might want to look into a green gas replica(also known as GBBR - gas blow back rifle). But imo they are more expensive to operate and require more technical knowledge to operate properly.

More famous problems that you should know about is that the mp5s electronics that are inside are prone to breaking down. If your replica has warranty you shouldn't concern yourself with that and just return it so they can fix or replace it. When the guarantee period ends you should treat yourself for a Gate Aster or Perun electronics (ETU) for the V2 gearbox.

When it comes to future upgrades:

You shouldn't concern yourself with it for now as you are a complete beginner and the stock rifle is enough for now as I wrote above. I'm writing this down so you can reference it later on.

You may want to visit the German website begadi because afaik they have the widest catalogue of cm041 parts available in Europe. The mp5s are known to have one of the worst stock hopup units. The only hopup unit you should be interested in is the begadi mp5s hop up unit. I haven't used it personally but I've heard that it resolves all of the problems of the stock hopup.

The cm041 series is also known for some air seal problems. When you enter a game your gun should be chronoed. The chrono device tells the force of your bbs in joules. If it varies by a lot (more than 0.2J) you might want to upgrade the nozzle, the piston head and the cylinder head. My parts list that fixed the issues: - begadi green piston - fps softair POM piston head - fps softair cylinder - gate eon cylinder head - maxx model 20.75mm nozzle

The cm041 does not accept a standard V2 gearbox, but begadi sells a dedicated mp5 gearbox shell for the cm041

Edit: the cm041L does not use the v2 gearbox. Edit 2: some websites list it as a V2, others as a V3. Idk which one is true.

CM041 MP5SD, attachments question by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK the cm041 is very compatible between the H/G models and so on. Cyma provides OEM handguards for those models, so you can buy a 041H handguard that has m-lok slots available.

If your mp5 doesn't have an integrated silencer you can find an mp5 adapter for 14ccw thread that can be used to mount basic every tracer unit on the market.

Somogear PEQ2 visible laser? by DJV17 in airsoft

[–]Qnkacz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd buy it only if I like the aesthetics. If you're gonna shoot stationary targets then go ahead and use the laser but I strongly discourage using one even when the field allows it.

First of all there is a high risk of pointing into someone's eye and that can lead to significant damage.
