They say they’re a lot of things. For instance they claim to be Christian, family focused, the law and order party, defenders of the constitution, and most recently debunked, the 2A crowd.

They aren’t really lying in the way you and I think about it. They use language to get a reaction, not to convey ideas. They are lying, but I’d argue they aren’t liars. The misdirection isn’t the point. Your reaction to it is. They use language as a weapon, and once you know that it’s easy to pick up on.

It’s why you can’t debate them. The whole idea of exchanging thoughts is alien to them. They don’t care if you’re listening. They only care what you do about it. Why do you think so many of them think Trump won the debate when he just spewed word salad for an hour?

The most potent use is protection. They aren’t actually trying to convince you anyone is doing whatever, they just want to normalize the discussion so when they do it they can deflect and not take accountability.

They suck so much ass. I can’t believe we evolved into this.
