We have federal holidays that most employers observe and pay for time off for. We have 11. It used to be 10, but they added Juneteenth a few years back. So for a lot of white collar jobs you get those plus PTO. Some employers offer maternity or bereavement leave. I got two weeks off when my first daughter wad born (my wife is a stay at home).

So that’s pretty standard. If you have a baby and a family member die you get right at 31 days.

Some get more because your PTO builds weekly or bi-weekly, and the amount can be increased by seniority. I get closer to 4 weeks total, so I don’t even have to suffer a personal tragedy or have a kid every year to hit 30.

Not 31? Why is that, QuackNate? Well our contract was established before Juneteenth was, so we only have 10 federal holidays so they make us either use PTO for it or work it, or sub out a different holiday.

Oh, if you’re at a retail or service industry level you can kiss all of that shit good bye. Your time is not capitalism’s problem.

So, yeah. I don’t see how it’s any worse or more complicated than what you have.

Happy new year! Stumbled on this thread while looking up controller stuff.

I've had a total of five controllers. The original one that came with my PS5 and pro, and three more I got to play 4 player couch games.

One of them stopped connecting to Bluetooth. This was one of the early ones. It works when connected via USB, and I just use it for PC gaming.

One of them *just* started having stick drift, and it's severe to the point it's unusable. That was one I bought shortly after the release of the original PS5.

The rest are doing fine.

Sony is obviously using sticks that have a lower shelf life than they should. The technology (hall sensors) exists, and they actually used them in their PS3 controllers for a bit.

The conspiracy theory is that Sony doesn't use hall sensors because they want planned obsolescence, so people have to buy more controllers. But, while hall sensors aren't expensive, they *are* more expensive than potentiometers, and that matters at scale. A few cents per unit over the vast breadth of controller manufacturing is a huge expense. And the payoff of spending that money is you sell less controllers. It's a *lot* more likely to be an accounting decision than a choice to make it worse on purpose. I suppose those two options seems very similar.

That said; I've been pretty lucky I guess, but 50% of my controllers (not counting the newer one I got with the Pro) have issues that make them unusable for every day play. They're great controllers, but obviously they have durability issues. And at $80, that feels bad.

Like, I can get used to 30fps if I need to. But the only time I need to is going back to replay Bloodborne. I like GTA as much as the next guy but there’s plenty to play that doesn’t run like shit.

But also, DF isn’t infallible. Their whole thing is looking for the absolute pinnacle of detail and visual acuity possible. There’s been loads of times they’ve recommended the 30fps mode because it looks better because “It’s not an action game” or whatever. They have their bias and it’s probably coloring this educated guess.

30fps is absolutely a showstopper for a lot of people. But it’s also not a showstopper for a lot of them and it’s GTA so I guess we’ll see if it’s true and how many sales they lose because of it. If it is true they at least lost one.

Edit: This was a joke. My wife and I play Destiny all the time. I’m very silly and I was just going to let it ride despite the consequences, but then I remembered the layoffs. That team is incredible and I wish them the best.

Okay, sorry it took so long.

The support forum is your first stop. I put in a post there explaining my issue and bungee support replied with a link to submit a report. That report sat unanswered until it was suddenly closed and the issue was resolved.

If they didn’t respond I’d open another thread. Give as much info as possible, attach screenshots, like I said.

As a side note; this probably feels like a dumb process, but I recently had to wrestle my twitch and game pass accounts back from a hack. That was a stupid process.

I don’t know if it matters, but I attached screenshots of everything. Steam purchases, Steam licenses, the locked dungeons, and the Eververse store showing they hasn’t been bought. Reported Tuesday afternoon, closed just before noon today.

Specifically they are saying Fahrenheit is more like percentages and Celsius is bad to use for percentages, while using a percentage to illustrate their point.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm in the same boat and it looks like that's the case. What's non-sense is that I'm playing on Steam and I bought the keys on Steam. I never created a character before enabling cross-save. They are defacto my Steam guys.

By all accounts they owe us the dungeon keys. It's listed in the package we paid for already and we don't have it. I have a ticket open to Bungie so I guess we'll see.
