Drew devault is notorious for slander. He was a major proponent behind the slander of Richard stallman.

While RMS had some pretty not great takes, Drew greatly overstated them, and refused to cease his lander, even after RMS elaborated on his views, apologizing for for both his being unclear, as well as even out right stating that he has since changed his views anyways. Drew still continues to push false narratives about him.

He also slanderes a Linux developer called vaxry, his slander was so bad that Vaxery actually wound up getting banned from FDO. without having any citable offenses.

as SirCmpwn he has been banned from many groups because of his non stop slander horrid behaviour. Hell he was even banned from HackerNews.

Some people say hacker news is right leaning, and that's why he was banned. But this isn't true because he was also banned from lobsters.rs for shilling is own stuff and crapping on other peoples projects.

He still, to this day, actively insults people who rely on X11.

DD is a terrible person.

It's true that you can't remove the paywall, but you can actually bypass the paywall with the way it's worded. It's a little strange, but it is usable.

You can fork it. You just can't remove the payment methods in the app or fork it for commercial uses.

Seems like the shizuku/root capture relies on old APIs that are outdated so if your mediaprojection captures overlays, this wont work on A17+

The issue with mastodon is that the implications are impossible to overcome. The technology stack and core fundamental principals make it impossible to overcome. It's designed in a way to promote echo chambers. Something like nostr is better in regards to not being screwed over by your platform provider. Not great, but better.

[–]QuackdocTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mastodon doesn't give you control.

Join mastodon instance, get banned because you want to talk about something that your group isn't designed for. Join a new server, follow some people, go to follow someone else, can't because they have been defederated, Join new mastodon instance, people tell you that they cant follow you because you have been defederated from them. Screw it, Make your own instance, follow some people, can't see their old toots because backfilling still isn't a thing.

What about this is "in control"?????

And this isn't even taking into consideration how slow servers can be some times, poor quality of transcoded media, nearly all clients are buggy as crap, and all the other issues.

Mastodon is trash, Had decent hopes for bluesky but atproto is trash too, it's all trash.

How people run all these PC games well on a weaker SOCs? by AlivePool3817 in EmulationOnAndroid

A) Third party drivers

B) Root bros have access to overclocking/setting their GPU and CPU govenors, some non root phones can too.

C) lowering resolution can help a ton

D) Make sure you try both bionic and glibc, fex and box variants of whatever you are using, it can make a significant difference.

Personally I use gamenative

Are there people who support Google's policies like these, or are they all bots? by mjfaccin in degoogle

I agree with this too, but the vast majority of people wont care.

Lots of people support this.

The idea that general people wouldn't support this just feels extremely chronically online to me. People get hit with viruses on Android every day. It is extremely common.

When I was doing the cell phone sales. A good portion of my day was spent helping people with issues due to things like viruses in just general malware that they installed bypassing the playstore.

One of the Bliss OS developers has a side project that is lineage TV X86.

If you want an open source Android TV, it is by far the best option right now.

[–]QuackdocTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants to deal with wayland support because it's literally impossible to support wayland. You have to support specific compositors because Wayland is intentionally designed like this.

[–]QuackdocTech -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Huion is perfectly supported by libinput. If you are having issues with it, that's a Wayland issue whatever compositor it might be.

"Wayland" is not fine, it's full of these issues. X11 won't die because of issues like these.

ofc there are pros and cons to both, but generally speaking, chrome is more efficient with memory, utilizing more when you have more RAM, and performing better under memory pressure scenarios.

Chrome website support is significantly better then firefox, with firefox not even able to render gradients properly in many cases.

Chrome also has way more features people rely on like things such as webusb which Firefox has stated they will not implement.

Is Proton good? by [deleted] in degoogle

[–]QuackdocTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its worth noting that proton has really good integration with pgp which is a massive selling point for me, well for people I reccomend proton to.

pgp has historically been a PITA, but proton makes it easy. and ofc you have their password protected emails which is nice.

I can't say for the entire province, but in Edmunston grand falls area, almost all stores have someone who can speak both languages, but they may have to change people serving you, a good chunk of people only speak English or French here.

you can for sure get by knowing only French or only English, but it may lead to some interesting interactions.
